This B&B is not bad, it is just not as good as is represented in the other reviews. This is a danger when somewhere get's glowing reviews-- it sets expectations unrealistically high. There are a few points that I think I can make that would help people considering staying here.

We stayed in the Rutherford room. This is described on the website as being small and having a small bathroom. The pictures on the website are a fair representation of the room, but not of the bathroom. The shower head is at chest level and because the shower stall is so small, it is quite awkward, though not impossible, to wash one's hair. There is no picture of the shower on the website so this is not something it would be possible to know in advance. The toilet is also located under a slanted ceiling so I always hit my head when using it, which is also not shown on the website.

The breakfast was fine. It was certainly better than a Holiday Inn Express, but I think the glowing descriptions in other reviews give an unrealistic idea of what to expect.

My wife was somewhat bothered by road noise, but I didn't notice it even though I am sensitive to noise. When we first sat on the beds, we thought they were extremely hard and expected to have trouble sleeping, but in fact they turned out to be fine.

We stayed there New Year's Eve and the property did not require a two-night stay, which we appreciated. The price was very reasonable for the area. I think the value proposition is good, but it is important to know exactly what you are getting-- if the inn posted a picture of the shower and toilet, it would make it easier to evaluate whether it's what you're looking for. In my opinion, it is perfectly adequate for one night stay, but I wouldn't want to stay in this room for longer.

Room Tip: The Rutherford room has a very small shower with the shower head at chest level, and a toilet with a...

We are sorry to hear this guest did not find the Rutherford room to be to their taste.

All our rooms are different and every one is somebody's favorite, we have guests who return and specifically request the Rutherford room.

It is one of our smallest and least expensive rooms which we try to represent accurately on our website, where we describe it as a "small private bath with shower."

When this reviewer booked online there were other rooms available for him. We are sorry that he chose a room that was more in line with his budget than his tastes.

A last minute decision to stay over in Calistoga...what a treat to stay at the Wine Way Inn! Loved our room with fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Tasteful decor and GREAT breakfast! Since it was a weekday and last minute, they gave us a nice discount. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We had a great stay at the Wine Way in two beautiful main floor suites. Moved next day to Craftsman and rooms nice but we'd been spoiled at Wine Way - first choice. In both places, great breakfast and setting to enjoy the Napa Valley. We'll recommend to our friends. Gillian and Nick were away, but we had fantastic service from their friends who were covering for them. Will stay longer next time...

Room picture on Internet is taken at the only one and most expensive.
Room price 170 USD per night
House is located right on the main road; the traffic noise level is very high, with open window intolerable.
Stairs are steep and narrow with no stair railing?!
Worn carpet, no chair (none), no coffeemaker, although complimentary coffee, tea, wine, water downstairs in the main room. No TV.
Because of squeaky bed you will wake up after every move. Pillows are clumpy and hard rock stiff that lost their shape a long time ago.
Found somebodies socks between two bed blankets.
Even if you will get some sleep, morning will greet you with a smell of burned food, neighbor’s conversation, walking, cars and trucks noise, and other type of noises. You see the picture…
Bathroom: absolutely clean, no hook for the towel, no place to place toiletries, cheap and outdated for 10 years, height from toilet to the ceiling dangerously low, shower cabin is too small even for Japan, shower head is leaking, two pieces of soap size 1”x2”. That’s it.
Breakfast: coffee (good), tea, milk, orange juice, muffins, bacon or sausage (overcooked), apple in maple syrup and cereal, always burned pie. If pie is not staffed with sausage, then sausage is on side and pie is staffed with apples, and vise versa. No eggs, cheese, etc. No fresh fruits.
We have visited more than twenty countries and about 15 states. We do not compare Wine Way Inn with hotels, just with B&B in Germany, Northern Ireland, France, Italy, sorry not even close.
The owners seem careless and just pump money from clients.
Spend money wisely

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely. Gillian is a wonderful cook, and she accommodated my wife and my dietary requests with tasty creations. Nick is a very wise and humble man. My wife and I enjoyed our early morning conversation with him over breakfast and walked away with a calm mind and a big smile.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the Silverado room. Worth the money!

We had great days at Wine Way Inn in Calistoga. Excellent rooms, marvelous breakfast, a surprise every morning. So nice to meet people from so different places and share experiences. Very good location, a nice walk and you are close to nice restaurants. Napa Valley is a really beautiful place, peaceful, many places to visit, wineries, beautiful parks, marvelous restaurants, close to other beautiful and charming cities from Napa Valey like Santa Helena, Napa, Yountville.

We staying in the Lokoya room and it was AMAZING to say the least. It included a king size bed with soft and cozy sheets, a Smart tv, a pull out couch, a huge bathroom that has a claw foot bath, an over-sized shower, and L'Occitane toiletries. The atmosphere was so homey and cozy with coffee in the morning and evening, complimentary wine in the living room, and the patio outside was enviable.

To top it off, Nick made a breakfast that made us want to live there, including brandy soaked peaches, french press coffee, homemade scones and muffins, and a hearty cowboy breakfast served with poached eggs...I salivate just thinking about it.

LOVED IT!!
