Best huevos rancheros I could ever imagine!! Complimentary wine is an excellent touch. We felt at home and really enjoyed the back deck and hospitality. We should have stayed another night. I would recommend this Inn to anyone who is looking for a place that feels like home and is affordable and within walking distance to downtown Calistoga.

Thanks for staying and for the nice review. Glad you enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros. The family had tried and approved it but that was the first time I had served it for guests. Based on your feedback and the enthusiasm of the other guests we will be serving it again.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Wine Way Inn. Hosts were extremely accommodating and helped create a great atmosphere for a fantastic weekend away in wine country! Definitely recommended and will hopefully be back in the not so distant future!

Almost ALL B&B's require a minimum of 2 nights stay, but something came available for a Saturday night stay only. Nick was on top of communicating with me, not like some other B&Bs I've tried to get in touch in and was very courteous with me as my arrival time was a bit unusual. Honestly, we really only need a place to sleep (the price is the same everywhere else) and I really wanted to avoid the usual hotel stays. Looking back, I wish I could have stayed a few nights!
Very charming: 1. Breakfast is like everyone said it before me: Excellent! 2. Complimentary wine and water in the fridge 3. Great patio space in the back away from all the trafic. 4. you are right the beginning of Lincoln Ave. "downtown 5. Calistoga Inn for food was the most happening place "downtown" only 5 mins walk. 6. Lavender Spa is right next door, while Dr.Wilkinson's/ Indian Spring/ Mountain View / Gold Haven Spas are max. 10 mins. 7. Old Faitful Geyser is about 6 miles away 8. Last but not least: Wineries are obviously all over and the area! and please must try American Culunary Inst. in St.Helena and Castello di Amorosa is 3 miles.
I can highly recommend the Wine Way Inn for your next stay

we stayed for 3 nights - it's very hard to find reasonably priced lodging in the napa valley, but the wine way inn fills the bill. breakfasts each morning were excellent - home cooked by nick and very good and filling. would definitely recommend it. wine made by nick in the evening too if you have room.

location is a little close to traffic at night, but most in calistoga are.

Nick has foud his niche in life! (his wife Gillian guided him to it!) I stayed at the Wine Way Inn fro 5 nights in May, based on the recommendation of my Daughter who stayed there last year. Nick & Gillian gave up the "rat race" life in San Francisco and fulfilled her dream of having a country inn. They actually have "his & her" Inns, as Gillian runs the Craftmann Inn just a few doors down! Gillian was able to build on that with her love and passion of cooking. The breakfasts are amazing. Gillian has actually written a lovely cookbook (I picked up a few for gifts.). The Inns are a short walk to downtown Calistoga, which for me was perfect as I was traveling alone, so I could walk for dinner.

We had a nice stay at the Wine Way Inn at the end of May. The Inn doesn't look like it is going to be a good experience when you first arrive--it is surrounded by unattractive properties. However enter into the Inn and it is very tranquil and attractive. We stayed in the Calistoga room which is a detached "cottage" giving onto the decks with a private deck of its own which was comfortable but extremely small--but we weren't really there to stay in our room. The bathroom was really in need of renovation. We wished we had stayed inside of the house which looked more attractive but it was quiet and we got a good night's sleep (what else can you ask for?). The extensive decks in back of the house were a fantastic place to relax with a glass of wine and a good book and there was an incredible view of the mountains from here. They also had a fire pit but we stayed on a relatively hot day and definitely didn't need it--it was nice to know it was there There was wine, brandy, baked goods, and other snacks left out for guests to partake of (and from what I have heard Nick makes it himself). Breakfast was stellar with good granola, fruit, a frittata, coconut/blueberry muffins and very good French press coffee.

If warm and fuzzy is a necessity for you (and it's not for us) then this place will not be for you. We had very little interaction with Nick and none at all with his wife. It was short, sweet, and to the point and that's the way we like it. We did enjoy a great conversation with the other guests at breakfast.

I would recommend this Inn for its good value (Napa Valley IS expensive), relaxing decks, great breakfast, and good night's sleep. Stay inside of the Inn in a room in the back (as others have said it is on the main road, just up from a very busy intersection).

Room Tip: Choose a room in the Inn at the back to avoid road noise

My wife and I stayed here in our visit to Napa Valley and we were very pleased with our overall experience. For the price, there is not another place where you will be as comfortable, feel as welcomed, and eat as good of a breakfast as you will here. Great value and great hosts!! Will definitely recommend t o anyone wanting a true B&B experience for a great price.
