Outstanding service and attention to detail make this a place to recommend wholeheartedly. The hosts Channing and Ric were charming, very helpful with local recommendations, and superb chefs! A wonderful place to chill out for a few days. I would certainly book this place again when staying in the Napa valley.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Chanric Inn for a nice weekend. The Chanric is wonderful - great hospitality in a comfy setting!

The house itself is gorgeous - beautifully remodeled with modern decor. The style is minimalist, but not cold. The kitchen is beautiful, and we liked that there were tables for 2 in the kitchen and outside on the patio.

The rooms were very nicely decorated, although the shower was very small. I was expecting this from reading other reviews, but it still is a negative. The bed, while comfortable at first, had a valley in the middle, which proved slightly annoying. It wasn't horrific, just something that I didn't expect.

As for the breakfast, it was possibly the best breakfast I have ever had! Everything is cooked to order, which is great. From the coffee to the muffins to the eggs, everything was top notch. I would stay here again just for the breakfast!

Other nice touches: great towels & linens on the beds; complimentary wet bar in the kitchen (including wine, soda, water); beautiful views from the front porch.

All in all it was a great stay. We would definitely return!

Myself and my husband stayed here for four nights at the end of our honeymoon in California. The house was beautifully decorated - no chinz in sight and as soon as you walked in the door you felt very welcome and so relaxed. Channing and Ric have done a great job at creating a contempory B&B with all the personnal touches which we appreciated even more after two week of big hotels.

The beds were fantastic - we came home and wanted to change our own bed immediatly! The pool and spa were really good and great for cooling off when the temperature soared. The bathrooms are small but perfectly fine and anyone who has an issue with that is missing the point, the rest of the experience more than makes up for it! The food is so tastey and the local 'know-how' and recommendations were great from Channing!!

We were so sad to leave and plan to go back again in the next few years.

My fiance and I spent two wonderful nights at the Chanric Inn, and were sad to say good bye before continuing on to San Francisco for a weekend wedding. We chose the Chanric for the advertised reasons - we wanted an intimate, welcoming place to stay that didn't have too many rooms and where close attention was paid to details. It more than lived up to our expectations. Channing, in particular, was a very helpful and conscientious host. He knows a great deal about local wineries, and we were never led astray by his recommendations (although they were on the pricier side). Our morning breakfast was delicious and carefully planned to touch every tastebud. The furnishings at the Inn were modern and restrained, but not cold. The little wine bar, open at any hour for guests to help themselves, was a nice touch. On our last night we took white wine up to the hot tub and sat under the stars -- bliss.
Calistoga is a charming town at a slight remove from the "Napafication" of other surrounding places. It's a nice launchpad for both going out and enjoying the surrounding vineyards, and also staying in and escaping the crowds.
Guests of all ages and places stay at the Chanric, although I do not recommend it for children. It is a quiet, calm place and not suited to boisterous people or families. It is a bit pricey, but we felt that it was worth the expense. We researched other places extensively, and were happy with our choice.

My husband and I stayed at the Chanric Inn for 4 days during our honeymoon, and we could not have asked for a more lovely place! First of all, prior to our arrival, Ric helped us with recommendations for wineries and restuarants, and even made reservations for us!

When we arrived it was nothing short of luxury the whole time. The breakfast is hands down the most incredible breakfast you will ever have at a B&B. We stayed at 3 other B&Bs on our honeymoon and none of them even came close to the magnificent feast you will get at the Chanric Inn. Each menu is original, terrifically paired, and scrumptous.

The pool and hot tub are fantastic. Clean, not crowded, a great place to relax. They even provide plastic glasses to take wine or beer to the pool with you. These guys really thought of everything.

The rooms were very comfortable. The beds are plush and the thread count high. The bathroom had everything we needed, including Aveda products (nice touch!). We experienced some problems with the AC when we were there, but I think that had to do with other guests changing the temperature around. Also, in the downstairs room you can hear noise in the morning from people walking around in the kitchen. None of this over-shadowed the wonderfulness, however.

If you want a romantic getaway, do not miss the Chanric. Seriously, we can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at the Chanric for a week over Labor Day and could not have had a more wonderful experience. We've decided that it is the only place we'll stay in the Napa Valley from now on! Channing and Ric are just wonderful, wonderful people who honestly care that their guests enjoy themselves, get to relax, and feel spoiled and cared for. I cannot say enough about these guys - after only one week I feel that they will be lifelong friends!

The property is decorated in a modern, clean style, fresh and very well-kept, with maid service very prompt, comfy beds and linens, coffee and tea outside your door in the mornings, brunch served made to order in the mornings (and served by the tranquil fountain in the garden, or in the dining room at your whim), a peaceful and private pool and hot tub- with only 6 rooms generally you have it all to yourselves, or maybe share with one other couple at the most - and all in a location that is much less crowded and traffic-heavy as the rest of Napa. Oh, and who can forget Taylor, the most loveable lab dog in the valley! And as for experiences while you visit, well, Channing and Ric know many of the local wineries and restaurants personally and are able to set you up on some amazing experiences you wouldn't get to have otherwise - just ask them, but they'll probably offer first!

I've read the other reviews on here and will respond to the two concerns I've seen mentioned: yes, you can hear the road, as you can at most properties in Napa. It is not loud or obtrusive at all, unless you are just really sensitive to it. I think finding a property with zero noise is just not very possible in the valley though, so those with noise concerns might be better off staying in the mountains. Also, yes, most rooms (at least right now) do not have bathtubs, but Channing and Ric are adding larger baths and do have at least one room with a jacuzzi tub now. But if you must have a tub, then make sure you ask for that room! Myself, I found the hot tub an excellent substitute.........

We stayed at the Milliken Creek Inn last time we were in Napa (2005) at almost 3 times the price, and enjoyed this experience so much more. We are very frequent travelers and have stayed at Inns all across the country - and this was the absolute BEST. As I say in the heading, all you really need to know is - stay here!!

We stayed at the Chanric Inn while in Napa for a wedding. What a dream. I can't believe that Channing and Ric are relatively new to the inn business. The whole Chanric experience is thoughtful, warm, elegant, topped off with california-sunny friendliness!

Not sure what we loved the most. The swimming pool and hot tub are lovely and super relaxing. Beds are plush, with great linens. Decor is refined (and non-floral!). Breakfasts are divine - three courses beginning with a warm, freshly-baked pastry or bread, followed by a fruit course, and finished off with a delicious egg entree. All this plus thoughtful touches such as a free, well-stocked mini bar in the main kitchen full of soft drinks and beer for guests. Wine in the evenings. Coffee and tea at your door in the mornings.

We wish we had booked a longer stay, and will definitely return if we have a chance.
