“One of the highlights of our trip!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

What a wonderful winery! The drive to it snakes from the main road through thick and beautiful woods. There's a small lily pad pond and a gorgeous house close by. We arrived on time and it was our anniversary, but the other 8 people were quite late. Still, our tour guide, Carrie, started the tour with just us. She is really knowledgeable, friendly, witty and engaging. She really made the whole experience memorable! The caves are dark and eerie and at the end of the tour, we stay in the caves and sample 5 delicious sparkling wines with lighted candlelabras around us. It lasted about an hour and a half. I wished it coulda have gone on longer! Thanks Connie! If we're ever around Napa again, we will most defitinely be back!

“Exceptional sparkling wine, great tour, best wine club”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We heard about Schramsberg from another couple who never misses it on their trips to Napa, and so we decided to make the hike up to Calistoga from Napa during one afternoon of our trip- and we were so glad we did! The tour was amazing- the guide was extremely knowledgeable, patient with questions, polite but entertaining, and helpful. We especially enjoyed getting to taste the sparkling wines at the end of the tour, as well as an excellent Cabernet Sauvignon they also have under another label. It was noteworthy among the many Cabs the region is famous for.
Of all of the 20+ wineries we visited on the trip, this is the only Wine Club we joined. I loved it so much I bought a white Schramsberg sport jacket that I have received numerous compliments on (both in Napa and back home). Everything they do is quality and done for the customer. Once there was a problem with our shipment not arriving on time and they expedited us the case in time for an event we were having. They tracked down the problem on their end and fixed it in plenty of time. Every wine they have sent is so exceptional that we cellar half of them just to make sure we have them later- it's tempting to drink them right away! They send a mix of sparklings and Cabs at Christmas time, and we're never disappointed. It's fun to think sometimes that we're drinking the same sparkling wines as the President, and every President and English Royal before him going back to Nixon!

“Great sparkling wine, great Cab”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Schramsberg is a large production vineyard up in Calistoga. They offer a great tour of their wine caves followed by a tasting with 4-5 wines.

Each of the sparkling wines was amazing. 2 of them may be available in stores near you but the rest are not. Just when we thought they only did sparkling wine they busted out a Cab that was so good it was the only case we ordered specifically while we were in Napa.

They also were the only wine club we joined because it seems fun to have bottles of sparkling wine show up at your door. Every delivery is a celebration.

“Start at Schramsberg, it is the BEST”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Just driving into the property, you realize that you are in for a treat. The winding driveway is a beautiful scene of mature and wild foliage on either side. Spend some time at the lily pad pool and you will see frogs, pollywogs and tadpoles (depending on the time of year), bullfrogs, goldfish and ... you tell me!

The cave tour is excellent and even if you have been on goodness knows how many tours, take this one because it is always fun and it is the little anecdotes that make it so enjoyable. The tasting is wonderful and nice fresh pours. Remember you are often tasting bottles of sparkling wine that run of the $100 mark!

Always enjoyable, fun and so worth every penny! Cheers!
