Of all of the places I've traveled to and plan to return, this is the only one for which the hotel is my primary reason for wanting to revisit. For us, the Meadowlark Country Inn is a destination in itself. The rooms and common areas of the house are beautiful and comfortable. Far larger than we expected. The pool and spa are the perfect place to relax. Breakfast each morning was beyond all expectations. Kurt and Richard were so much fun to spend time with, we seldom left the breakfast table until it was almost time for lunch. The grounds and gardens are large and perfectly manicured with majestic oak trees and innumerable plants and flowers. While we were there, one of their horses delivered a colt. The barn was open for us to see and pet the day old colt. Kurt and Richard, we will be back to see you soon. K and R, congratulations again on your anniversary and enjoy your wine.

Meadowlark Country House is a very special refuge for relaxation and rejuvenation. Kurt and Richard are excellent hosts, providing attentiveness and unobtrusive wisdom about exploring the wine country area. Their suggestions for restaurants were superb.

The lodging and grounds were inviting and sophisticatedly unpretentious. I had beautiful swims in the tree surrounded pool. It was a great stay.

Everything physical about Meadowlark exceeded our expectations: the rooms, the common areas, the gardens, the grounds, the breakfasts, the pool area. Beyond these physical aspects, the most gratifying aspects of Meadowlark were the utter peace and contentment felt just taking in the beauty of the place, complemented by attentive, open, positive, and stimulating conversations with the owners, Kurt and Richard, and other guests. We enjoyed our two-day stay so much that we returned a week later for another two-day stay, and enjoyed it even more.

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to spend a majority of our anniversary celebrations at Meadowlark, (next week will be 17)!!! We have come to cherish the time we spend there more each and every time. Of course the setting is beautiful, the pool is one of a kind for us, the spa and sauna are great, but the best part of Meadowlark are the kind and wonderful owner/hosts Kurt and Richard. They have become an integral part of our hearts. Their welcoming hospitality is above anything we have ever experienced any place else, but more than that their friendship is a gift and a privilege that cannot be measured. Breakfast is so wonderful, not just because it is always delicious and healthy, but because the conversation with the other guests is always entertaining and enlightening due to the diversity of those who visit. However, visiting with and hearing and sharing stories with Kurt and Richard, sometimes at dinner are the most wonderful part of all. In our hearts forever, we will see you soon!!!!

Room Tip: The is no "bad" room simply because if you have a room at the most wonderful B&B anywh...

My fiance and I had a three night stay here to kick of my 30th birthday and words cannot describe how wonderful our experience was. The people, the pool & spa, the food... all worth it. We were looking for something not overrun with Napa tourists, and this place was a great find!

This was our first time staying here, and Richard and Kurt (and their adorable pup Sparky) are very welcoming to EVERYONE who stays here, from the regulars to the newbies like us. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck of the main building listening to the birds sing and taking in the pretty views. The food was fresh and tasty and well portioned. The pool area is large yet still feels intimate... with plenty of deck lounge chairs for everyone to find a spot. The pool is also 24 hours, so we took advantage of some late evening hot tubbing and then cooling off in the pool.

We were definitely on the younger side of the guests who stay here (we're 30 & 31), but we're planning on making this place a regular retreat for the two of us for years to come!

Room Tip: We had the Pond Room. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. It has a mostly private patio with a litt...

Meadowlark Inn is the best B&B on the planet. Wait, I take that back. It is the best B&B in the known universe! Everything you could ask for - and more - is provided. The grounds are stunning, beautifully landscaped and includes various roses and fruit trees. Numerous trails are available to hike and the views are fantastic. Only a short drive to many excellent restaurants and exceptional wineries but it is situated as if you were miles from anywhere.

It is a working horse ranch and while we were there two mares were about to give birth and we watched the most beautiful 1-year old colt gallop freely about one of the large paddocks. It has its own henhouse providing fresh organic eggs. There is an aviary for song birds and we saw hawks and numerous wild song birds.

The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable - with good Wi-Fi and Internet connection available. Then there is the spa area. Fed by a natural hot spring, it is beautifully laid out, with a large swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and massage room.

But I saved the best for last. The breakfasts, organic ingredients, are without a doubt the best we've EVER had - and I've had a lot of breakfasts over a lot of years. Just amazing and we'd go there just for it. The breakfasts also offer the opportunity to meet and chat with the charming and personable owners of Meadowlark, Richard and Kurt. Friendly and open we learned a great deal about the history of Meadowlark. Kurt is a great story teller and after one breakfast we stayed for 2 hours listening and laughing at his great stories.

Words and tons of adjectives can never adequately describe Meadowlark - it has to be visited to experience the serenity, peace and beauty. It is truly a one-of-a-kind B&B and it has moved to the top of our list of places to get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We look forward to our next visit; from the beauty of the land, to the breakfasts, and storytelling.
