My wife and I stayed one night and had a most enjoyable time. We were given an upgraded room that was available without requesting an upgrade and at no extra charge. The room and facilities were excellent. The best part of the visit was having breakfast with Richard and Kurt who own and operate Meadowlark. We have a leisurely breakfast with enjoyable conversation.

The only thing that would have made the visit better was having the opportunity to stay for a longer visit.

My husband and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary in Napa and stayed with Richard and Kurt. Hands down the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed at! What a gem in the too often crowded and commercialized Napa region! The suite we stayed in felt like home from the moment we stepped in. The fireplace was lit, warm and waiting for us when we checked in late at night. The whirlpool for two was so relaxing, filled with mineral water right from Calistoga. The four poster canopy bed was really comfy and romantic. Everything was nicely appointed. It was raining all weekend so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the private deck or the pool. But hey, got to leave something to look forward to on our next stay :-) Richard and Kurt had lots of stories to tell and was so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was yummy too: lemon and cottage curd pancakes with maple syrup was the perfect start to our wine tasting weekend.

We hope to see you soon Richard and Kurt!

Room Tip: We stayed in Suite 2

There are so many things to sayabout Meadowlark.
From the moment you drive thru the covered wooden bridge( A Very Good Landmark when coming Home late) your life changes to such pleasure by being in such relaxing and beautiful surroundings with the best hosts you can ask for.
Both Kurt and Richard have exactly the right disposition and charter to run such a perfect hideaway, they are so friendly and caring and make you feel welcome with nothing a trouble to them, as Kurt said “Feel free to make this place your own”. And we did. 
We both feel that we have made lifetime friends with them both.
Our room, the suite, was large and opulent with everything you required and breakfast was so relaxing and exciting wondering what Richard had prepared for us today.
We used the beautiful and private pool, spa and sauna and relaxed in the sun at every opportunity ,especially late at night on returning from dinner, a treat as the weather was perfect and the facilities where always open.
AS others have said Do Not let the fantastic massage by Kurt pass you by, it is one of the best we have had.
We have always tried to have a relaxing few days at the end of a trip to San Francisco and beyond, before we head back to Australia and used to stop in Hawaii on way home, but now Any trip to the USA Has To have a least a few days back here at Meadowlark after the week we had there.
Do yourself a favour and try this piece of paradise that we found as the two Aussie guys will be returning in the not too distant future.

After a few crazy weeks, my partner and I decided to take a very last minute get-away out of the bay area. I called Meadowlard, and was very warmly greeted by Richard, one of the two owners. Since it was the off-season, I was able to secure a reservation for the same night, and Richard provided great recommendations for where to eat in town. After checking in to our gorgeous and cozy room (the Mountain View room), we ate dinner in town and then spent much of the evening in the hot tub. The tub wasn't quite as hot as we would have preferred, but that in no way dimnished our enjoyment there. The dry sauna was fantastic as well.

In the morning, we rolled lazily to breakfast and were treated ot Richard's wonderful cooking, and some lively conversation with Kurt (the other owner) and some guests. We booked massages for the afternoon, walked around the gorgeous grounds, met the horses and the parakeets, and lazed around the hot tub. Although we stayed long past our check-out time, the hosts made us comfortable and welcome throughout the afternoon and into the early evening.

Kurt gives AMAZING massages. My partner and I have each had many massages in our day, and Kurt's was easily one of the best either of us had ever had.

We will definitely be returning - hopefully very soon!

Room Tip: I can't speak for any of the others, but the Mountain View room is lovely.

I found this place online and booked a room for my anniversary. My husband and I live in the Bay Area and so make semi-frequent trips to Wine Country - generally staying in B&Bs. This is the only place that we have returned to again and again. We tend to like to try new places so this is a significant fact!

The property is peaceful, spacious and beautiful. You can even visit the properties horses and exotic chickens (which are the source of the amazing eggs they serve at breakfast). The pool area with hot tub are worth spending an entire day. The rooms are all unique and filled with homey yet high end touches. It feels like you are staying in the wealthy home of a friend of a friend.

However, the best part of Meadowlark are the incredibly welcoming and gracious hosts. They make you feel welcome then leave you to your own devices but always attend the wonderful breakfast in the morning and are very adept at interesting conversation and in including the entire diverse group of guests.

I highly recommend this place.

We are not B and B people, generally preferring the predictable to the quaint, so Meadowlark was a bit of a departure for us. We chose Meadowlark because the reviews were uniformly excellent, the prices reasonable for the Napa-Sonoma area, and the location seemed ideal. We were extremely pleased with our choice. We arrived in late October, when tourism was on the ebb in the Valley, and were immediately (and without asking) upgraded without charge to a room priced at half-again what we were paying, simply because it was available and the innkeepers wanted to be nice. Other reviewers have mentioned Kurt and Richard's hospitality and friendliness, and we agree wholeheartedly. Kurt and Richard were away for part of our stay, and Ronni and Randy, who stood in, were just as charming and friendly. The grounds are beautiful, the accomodations neat and spacious, the breakfast excellent, and the location is, indeed perfect. But the best part of our stay was the time spent each morning over coffee chatting with our hosts. We hope to return some day.

Room Tip: If you are feeling expansive, try the Pool House, which has its own terrific outdoor space and a was...

My wife and I discovered this wonderful place last year (Sep-2011) and of course had to go back this year to celebrate again our anniversary. The setting is gorgeous, the breakfasts are exquisite, Richard and Kurt are wonderful hostesses. It is a peaceful setting to walk around and lots of friendly people stay here; met a lot of them during breakfast and in the relaxing pool area. BTW---my wife enjoyed the scheduled massages I surprised her with.

Room Tip: Room 5 is excellent, but I will try the Mountain room or the one by the pool next time
