My husband and I purchased the Silver Experience at Sterling Vineyards. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and pleasant. The tram ride was lovely, even with the smoke fog. We were welcomed at the first stop with a souvenir crystal wine glass and Chardonnay. Our tasting upstairs was personalized with a dedicated staff member. She was very informative, teaching us about the wines, the vineyards Sterling owns and even tips on effective tasting. Outside of the exclusive wines, we also completed the self guided tour and tasted three additional wines.

Went here based on the various positive reviews...we were not disappointed. Gorgeous views from the property, the price is very reasonable compared to others, you get a neat gondola ride up to the building, and the staff was very nice/helpful. We got some of our best pictures up here. One critique is the wine was "okay"...not great, but not bad either.

We had such an amazing time visiting Sterling. From the lift ride up the mountain to the roof top deck at the end of our tour. Great place to sit and have a glass of wine and take in the beauty of Napa Valley.

First of all, if you are looking for private, minimal crowds winery tour, this may not be the place for you. You get in line to buy a ticket for the aerial lift. When we were there it was very busy so they were not allowing 2 people per lift, they had to max it out at 4. Bummer because my husband and I would have preferred a private ride. The views on the lift are very nice, but not breathtaking (we hike a lot, so if you don't this may be breathtaking to you). You then get off and get your wine glass and first sample. It's a self guided tour with signs pointing where to go. You get to taste 4 different wines. The end is the best part because the Terrace really does have beautiful views! You can purchase additional drinks, cheese, meats, etc. on the terrace and spend as much time as you want taking in the views. Overall, nice for great views, probably not the best tour, but it was very inexpensive.

Thank you for your review Tania. For your next visit I would like to propose one of more private experiences - Silver or Platinum which may be more of what you were looking for. Either way we look forward to your next visit to Sterling Vineyards.
Cheers, Jan

The Sterling vineyard is unique in that it offers a cable car ride up the mountain that provides a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The wine making facility is located on the top of the mountain and a self guided tour is part of your ticket. You get an excellent self guided tour of the wine making process. The least expensive option at $35 includes the cable car ride, the self guided tour, and 4 wine tasting stations. We found that the self guided tour provided as good as a tour guide by a person at another winery on our previous visit to Napa. The downside is there is no one to answer your questions. We did not miss that. This Vineyard is a little further to drive to, but it is worth the extra miles.

We went during harvest which really added to it - I think it may be a bit dull without that experience. The view are awesome and the wine is excellent. Definitely worth a stop.

Visited on a weekday (1hr + drive up from SF); for a ‘General Tasting’ tour ($71.55 for two; that includes the general admission to the site, cable car ride to the winery, a tour of the making process and wine tasting stations on route (+ your Souvenir tasting glass).

This is a stunningly beautiful location and a very classy establishment. There is a small gift shop and of course the chance to buy bottles/cases of wine direct from the producer.

This is perhaps the best winery to get a birds eye view of Napa Valey's beauty.
Take the tram up to the tour of the wine making process.

If you have been in a few vineyards... this is a different one from the moment you have to take a funiculare to arrive to the top and start a lovely wine tasting around the building with beautiful views!;and a the end you can take a break a their little bar and enjoy a cheesse platter with a glass of wine ;)

It says they close at 5:00pm however I showed up 4:40pm and they told me the last tour/tasting had already left so if you wanna come “late”
Make sure you arrive an hour before they say they close.

I can’t review the tour/tasting because of that but my experience wasn’t good expecting to get service within the time they say they have it and ended up being rejected.
