“Excellent B&B”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

We stayed here two nights whilst visiting attractions in the area. Jan and Alan made us feel at home right away. Very friendly and the accommodation is of a very high standard. We stayed in the Ebony Room which is spacious and very comfortable. Can't fault the quality of the service or the breakfasts. For us, only one very minor comment. During the heatwave it would have been good to be able to sit outside in the evening. But, as I say, this is a VERY minor comment. Given the usual British summer weather it would never have arisen. Don't be put off. This really is an excellent place to stay.

Despite having reviewed Wisteria House in August 2012, I felt compelled to write another review after visiting in June 2013. The reason for this is that on our arrival we discovered Jan and Alan, the proprietors, have completely refurbished and redecorated the two guest bedrooms.

We stayed in The Ebony Room as before (formerly known as The Orchard Room) – this has been tastefully decorated as has its adjoining bathroom with overhead shower. Both bedroom and dining room are still kept meticulously clean and fresh, providing us with a pleasant and relaxing ambience for the duration of the stay.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and promptly served - exactly as we’d asked for. Not only did it come on a warm plate but with warm smiles and ‘set yourself at ease’ general chit chat as Jan and Alan served us.

The only thing I’d add to previous reviews is - try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: The Ebony Room has dual speed ceiling fan for those hot summer nights

Stayed at this first class B&B for one night. The room, newly redecorated, was immaculate, spotlessly clean and well appointed with a good supply of teas and coffee and a flat screen TV. The bathroom was spacious with large bath and two basins and a large shower. All plumbing worked well and there was a supply of nice toiletries. The two rooms are self contained and guests get their own access to the property. Alan and Jan made us feel very welcome. The only slight niggle was that breakfast, even on a Saturday morning, finished at 08:30 which was just a little early, notwithstanding that, the choice and ingredients were excellent and it was delicious. This place is a little Gem in an area which doesn't have that many, definately recommended and we will be going back.

We have stayed with Jan & Alan a few times. It's like arriving at a good friends house. The rooms are always spotless and well decorated.
Breakfast can be what you want it to be with a good choice on the menu.
This is our first search when we visit Hampshire. We'll probably be back later in the year.

Room Tip: There are only two. We've used both and both are really nice.

Since I wrote my first review of Wisteria House in 2006 my husband and I have visited on a regular basis. This year we stayed from Aug.22nd to Aug. 28th and found that standards of hygiene, cooking, comfort and help from proprietors Janice and Alan Coupe remain impeccable without wavering – and with attention to detail being second to none on all levels. Our hosts always go that extra mile in making our stay as comfortable and stress free as possible and if there's any service you need in in the area as a whole, then Jan & Alan have the info at their fingertips for you . To add to this I feel that it's the warmth and friendliness they show to their guests which is the cherry on Wisteria's cake (and if you can't eat cake, nor cherries, they will cater for your personal dietary needs, with their consistently high quality catering) . Wonderfully warm accommodation and a wonderfully warm welcome each time. Will definitely revisit.

A very warm and friendly welcome from Janice and Alan. Accomodation was over and above what you would expect from a 5 Star B&B. Beautiful bedroom/bathroom, followed by a wonderfull full English breakfast.

Highly recommended, well worth a stay.
