As part of a golf trip, six of us stayed at the Ugadale Cottages in early September 2011. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very attractive. We all thought the cottages were wonderful - tasteful but not over the top. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. We had several meals at the Pub, all of which were very satisfactory.

We were lucky enough to win two nights accommodation at the Cottages through a Visit Scotland competition. We visited in mid August 2011 and what a wonderful experience it was. The cottage we had was a large two bedroomed one with ensuites in each room. We had a fully equipped kitchen and large lounge with very comfortable furnishing. We really appreciated being in such luxury accommodation after a lot of travelling from NZ in the previous 10 days. So the stay at Machrihanish was a real unwinder. We dined at the adjacent restaurant for both nights and the service and quality of the meals was excellent. The staff were very professional, helpful and extremely proud of their lovely wee place. So all in all a wonderful couple of days in a beautiful part of Scotland.

The cottages where beautifully appointed, tastefully designed and decorated. Beautiful big en - suites and comfortable furnishings. The cottage was spotlessly clean. Could not fault a thing.
We stayed for 2 nights and for early November had wonderful weather. Not sure what it would have been like down here if the weather had been inclement.

Wonderful golfing week - end spent with a group of 12 gents. The cottages were way beyond our expectations - absolutely superb throughout - wanted to take them home with us...!
Staff were extremely good, nothing too much trouble...and all done with a great sense of humour as well...
The pub was perfect for spending the evening in and the food was delicious - evening and breakfast. The only (and I mean only) minus point was the lack of real ale..! There are so many excellent local breweries around now it would be nice to support and offer a proper ale to residents rather than tasteless keg beer.
Golf course was magnificent and we will return...

Many thanks for your comments-- we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are following up on your suggestion and in are the process of securing a real local ale to serve at our pub. We hope you will come visit us again soon--in the next few months we will be adding to our offerings with the opening of the newly restored Ugadale and Royal Hotels in Machrihanish and Campbeltown, which will offer first class accommodation, great food and beverage and spa services!

Macrihanish Dunes was without doubt the highlight of my golfing year, The people, accomadation (Ugadale Cottages), Golf, food and service all made for a most favourable 3 days. Not even the rain could damper our spirits as we stayed in luxury and played golf on one of the most exciting new courses Scotland has seen in 100yrs! A must for all golf enthusiasts and people wanting to spend some quiet time in one of the most beutiful places in Scotland. I cant say enough good things about the place, Highly reccomend!

Visited Machrihanish with my wife, brother and sister in law. The Ugadale cottages were perfect suited for our stay. They were new, clean, comfortable and very well suited to the golf courses and clubhouse. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. The bedrooms were equiped with private baths and the common areas were perfect for relaxing after our golf rounds. While there is not a ton of "activity" around this area, the scenery provided the Scottish experience we desired. The food was amazing and my sister in law has a new found addiction to Hagis Nachos. Great visit and cannot wait to reurn.

Room Tip: Our cottage had no rooms on ground level which kept things very private and quiet.

Macrihanish was an awesome experience-outstanding golf ,food accommodations and the best hospitality I have ever experienced. These folks really care about their guests . As an example,I had the misfortune to fall and injure my knee. The resort driver took me to a local clinic for treatment and waited to drive me back even taking me on a sight seeing tour of the local village. Also our flight was late and they waited up until 3AM to transport us from the dock where our transfer boat landed to the resort. You will not find a more friendly location to spend a few days golfing.
