“Excellent Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We received a friendly welcome at this lovely old village pub, complete with low beams and wood burning fire. We visitied for the 1st time on Sunday with 2 friends and although we had booked we had a little wait before we were seated so were given complemetary drinks, which were much appreciated. Selection of roast Lamb, Beef, or Pork plus chicken or veggie option all available as standard or large portions. My friend and I found the standard portion ideal while our husbands just about managed the large servings. All came with a great selection of fresh vegetables, roasties, yorkshire pudding and real delicious gravy all cooked to perfection. The Bedford Arms is well worth a visit, we have recommended it to friends and look forward to eating here again.

“Great food in a lovely old building”
Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

Visited The Bedford Arms twice this year for a substantial lunch and both times the meal has been outstanding. Proper portions and piping hot. Add to that the charm of this old country pub with its low ceilings, beams and open fire then it is a perfect spot off the beaten track and I hope to visit many more times to come.

“Birthday meal”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Excellent meal - homemade Oxtail Soup and warm rolls to die for. Lovely atmosphere and warm pub. Fully recommend but you need to book as very busy on 29th November. Will hopefully be returning for another meal.

“Bedford Arms gives a lovely cuddle”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Went there today (18th November) after a walk in the country surrounding Souldrop. Had booked a table and would advise booking as it is a busy place. Do you ever visit an area without knowing anywhere to eat but have this vision of a comfortable pub with a very welcoming log fire and olde world ambience, along with staff who actually want to make your stay pleasant. This along with a wholesome Sunday roast. Well dream no more the Bedford Arms delivers all in spades.Lamdlady suggested not having a starter as the roast dinner was large and boy she was absolutely correct. Roast beef, yorkshire, roast potatoes, mashed sweet potato, roast parsnips, red cabbage and cabbage. All this served with gravy and an additional pot of gravy. Black Sheep beer, accompanied the meal very well and was very well kept. If you want haute cuisine with fiddly, small portions served on huge plates, with the food piled up in the middle, showing more artistry than good food then this is probably not the place. If however you want a good meal, well cooked, the Bedford Arms is for you.
