“Great for a girls weekend getaway”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

People were super friendly and helpful. Waitress working the cabanas was awesome.

If you get a room, don't stay on the 3rd floor. The whole floor hums/vibrates. The closer you get to the end of the hall (farther away from the elevators) the louder it gets. Friends on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors didn't have this problem. In my room it sounded like a horribly loud bathroom fan was on that I would never find the switch to.

The shower was cool with the twigs in frosted glass. Loved that look. The bed was super comfortable. Everything looked clean.

The price for a room is a little more than I would have expected. Pricey for what it is (not Vegas).

Overall: I very much enjoyed myself here.

Room Tip: Avoid the third floor due to loud humming.

We took a one night getaway from LA to the Morongo, based on a 1 night free stay from a radio station win.

I have passed the Morongo several times; however, have not stopped in. Particularly, have never stopped into the hotel, as I am usually pretty weary of Indian Casino Resorts, as the hotel is usually way below normal standards.

Upon entering this resort, I was impressed with the layout and aesthetic appeal of the casino. We checked in and had a canyon view 1 king room. The hotel is about 10 years old, and the room looks amazing. It was on par with upper mid-scale hotels and resorts. The room decor was well thought out, the view was great, the amenities were plentiful, bed was relaxing, and the bathroom and shower were extremely nice.

The casino happened to be very good to us, this time around. We also had martini's in the Cielo on the 27th floor; however, were not overly impressed by these. However, there was a special event going on in the Cielo, which may have changed the quality and the way they were made.

Everything else about this quick one night getaway was awesome!

We stopped at Morongo Casino for buffet lunch. This is our first visit to Morongo. We were planning to eat at outlet center nearby but the outside advertised price of just over $10 for buffet lunch was too enticing. To receive the discounted buffet price, we were required to become Reward card members. On this Friday, there was no line at 2pm. We walked straight to the cashier and were promptly seated. The server was attentive in clearing the plates and refilling our drinks. The buffet had much to offer. The tables look full of people but there were no lines for the food. The roast was dry and ham was not much better but the rest of the food we selected was good. I am easy to please especially if jello is offered. (Orange jello was provided.) For the first plate, I chose jello, pizza, fried rice, chicken, Chinese broccoli and Chinese string beans. Later, various noodles were good too. The usual melons available lacked the expected sweetness though. The variety of desserts was good. The chocolate chip cookies were just hard enough. The fudge like dessert was too sweet for my sweet tooth. At end of meal, server offered tea or coffee. I selected green tea. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet lunch especially at the low price. For an item I did not like, there were other choices to satisfy my appetite. We all left with a full stomach.

We were there for just one night, and overnight trip from Phoenix. Stayed on the 13th floor, very nice and quiet room, the bathroom was amazing! Ate at the buffet, nothing special, decent food, slow service though. Casino has allot of slots, but for a Saturday night it was packed! Not sure the number of tables. It was a bit smoky, but I don't know any casino on an indian reservation that's NOT smoky! All-n-all, it was a decent place to stay, I would recommend it and go there again.

If you're into gambling at a sad looking casino with smoke swirling all about you, then this is the place for you. Forget about any "smoke free" anything, the ridiculous oh so not "smoke-free" gambling nook is a joke.

All the eateries (the food court), uncozy as they are, are right off & open to the smoke filled casino floor, so good luck enjoying your food like that. The exception is the very good but extremely expensive Cielo Restaurant, although the patrons are allowed to smoke in the bar.

I must admit, the pool area is fabulous, but they close it at 5 pm so forget enjoying a relaxing swim or spa soak in the evening -- oh no, these folks clearly don't want you to be lured away from the gambling tables!

Our standard room was a nice size and had a spectacular mountain view which was difficult to enjoy considering the tiny window looking in that direction -- what a monumental wasted opportunity, or maybe just another ploy to not get the guests too caught up in enjoying something that may take them away from the gambling tables?... The rooms are non-smoking, but wait! as the elevator door opened to our floor, we ran right into a man puffing away in the hallway.

I must admit that the bathroom was fabulous, although it could have used a few hooks for wet towels & such. The bed was very comfortable. The room furnishings were OK. The room is completely not sound proof so be ready for loud people banging doors at 3 AM in the hall, unless of course you are one of those people yourself.

If you're a tea drinker be aware that the free coffee/tea advertised in the room does not include regular tea, only green tea. I was told I could buy an English breakfast tea bag! What great customer service, not.

We stopped here on the way home from Palm Desert since we were intrigued by all the advertisement on TV... Much too somke-filled for a Californian like me! Hard to get any help in the casino when we had a machine problem... buffet large but not very good.
