“A Great Find”
Reviewed July 30, 2011

We stopped in for lunch on our way to Palm Springs. There was a twenty minute line up but it was worth the wait. The price was an awesome value with the players card. The room itself is very attractive in its design and the food quality is on par with any mid range buffet in Las Vegas, at a much better price. There is a large variety to choose from, for salad, main dishes and desserts. Our server was pleasant and efficient. We would definitely return if the opportunity arose.

“A good buffet for it's price!”
Reviewed April 11, 2008

The Potrero Canyon Buffet is Morongo's buffet. At a price of 10 dollars if you have a winners club card (2 dollar discount per person (adults only)...sign up even for just this discount even if you don't gamble! Quick and easy, and you get discounts at the outlets and other privileges), it's a good deal. Kids are only 7 dollars. For what it serves, it's a good deal- with your winners club card, even better than eating at the food court!
The buffet is a little dark- there isn't much lighting. The cups are basic transparent plastic, but the utensils are interesting and modern. At lunch, they still have breakfast items such as bacon and eggs.
The best part that I liked in the buffet was the stir fry section. The buffet has a special station where you pile up food, tell what sauce and meat you would like, and then the chef stir fries it. It's really good- the sauce they use (the house one) has oyster sauce and soy sauce and other flavorings. Everything came out crisp and fresh- not lumpy veggies. Next to it was the Asian section, which had things like steam rice, fried rice, chow mein, pad thai (not authentic), and other selections.
Other parts of the buffet had meat carvings (top roast, ham, BBQ ribs), a wide variety of salads and DIY salad, mexican food, italian food, and some (but very few) seafood. They had a catch of the day seafood with lemon caper sauce which was really good though.
The deserts were really scrumptious. Lots of selections to choose from- flan (velvety and smooth), cheesecake, tiramisu, cookies, eclairs, cream puffs, brownies, sugar free stuff, ice cream, cones, jellos, and more! Really good- basically the best of everything.
You also get complimentary drinks with refill. *Tip- you can take out drinks! In our situation, they refilled our drinks, but we couldn't finish (the cups are gigantic). So, we asked for cups to take out, and they allowed.
Overall, a good buffet for the price. It's definitely not up to par with other buffets which have king crab legs and lots of fancy things, but it's price is so low for a four diamond resort it's a really good deal. Outside, the Panda Express meal with three items is 8 dollars. For two more dollars, you could be eating in the buffet and stuff your mouth full! It's a really good deal.
