“OK, but would stay elsewhere next time”

I booked this hotel last minute using reward points. I requested a room with two double beds but received a room with a king bed, a rollaway, huge wraparound sofa and a dining room table. I guess most people would be pleased with the extra space and furniture, but I wasn't happy about having to move said furniture around to make room for the rollaway when we were bone weary. The rollaway was comfortable though, as was the king bed. However, the overall look of the furnishings was quite shabby - like the place hadn't been thoroughly cleaned or updated for years.

The fridge didn't work. It was quite chilly outside but the windows allowed drafts and the heater didn't work well. The bathroom: had to straddle the toilet in order to allow the door to close. The shower was inoperable - had to take a bath rather than a shower. And they authorized money against my credit card for "incidentals" after assuring me at check-in that they wouldn't.

On the plus side the breakfast quality and selection were quite good, and the location is great - very near the airport, with free shuttle to access the BART from the airport.

SF is an expensive city. I saved money by staying near the airport but I still think there are nicer choices within the same price range.

We were three hours delayed into SFO and completely exhausted when we finally got to hotel. I have low expectations for airport hotels so was blown away by how clean and fresh this place was and by how huge our room was. We slept like kittens and then feasted on the very well appointed free breakfast the next morning.

If arriving on a late flight and don't have a rental car, take a taxi to the hotel.

I needed to make changes for my stay and the Front Office Manager "Mary" made everything easy for me and my family. She knows very well how to run her Front Desk Team and I would certainly say that she is an expert. MY family and I would definitely return to this Hotel because of her. Thank you Mary.

This location is pretty good, right on the water. The.staff there, are very cordial and helpful in any way you may need. They have just had a complete makeover in the lobby area, and talking to the staff, they are going to be remodeling all of the rooms, as well this year. The location is good, a few miles from the airport and convenient to car rentals and a large selection of restaurants within walking distance as well as right on the property. This has been my favorite location between flights, for several years, although there are several Holiday Inn Expresses in the airport vicinity. The staff and complimentary breakfasts here, have always been better than average and sometimes more creative than others. The shuttle to and from the airport can put you in touch with BART to go to San Francisco or the East Bay, and car rentals at the airport, although I prefer to go off airport grounds to avoid excessive fees tacked on airport car rentals at the airport. Airport Blvd and Burlingame have car rentals that will be easier on your pocketbook sometimes 40% less.

I was looking for a hotel that was close to the airport and BART and this worked out great. The shuttle takes you to/from the airport every 20 minutes and then you can get on the BART from the airport. I would not suggest driving into downtown from here if you have a car due to the fact that it will take forever and parking is costly and difficult to find downtown.

Check in was easy, room was very nice and clean, although my blinds were broken and would not open or close all the way but not a big. My room had a view of the pool, which did seem small but i did not swim. There are other rooms that have a view of the bay but you can walk to the bay and take pictures.

Pros: Free shuttle access to airport/BART; if you do have a car, there are some restaurants in the area; microwave and fridge in the room; free breakfast (which was decent)

Cons: If you do have a car, parking might be an issue.

I've stayed in this area before and it's nice to be away from the city but still easy to access it either by car or BART. I ended up booking our hotel on Hotwire and was pleased to see we were ending up with HIE. We arrived and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby is inviting and the whole building is almost done with their remodel.
We got to our room and the only complaint I have is that the beds are quite small. They are just double beds. We actually ended up having to switch rooms because the air conditioning was broken but that wasn't a big deal and they were still very accommodating.
Our new room had the same smaller beds and not a lot of air flow, especially in the bathroom but overall it wasn't bad and we slept fairly good for our three nights we were there.
Oh! Their breakfast selection was very good and there was coffee and fresh fruit in the lobby throughout the day!

We had a lovely big room, with fridge, coffee maker and microwave, overlooking the Bay. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast had variety for a hot cooked breakfast or a lighter continental one. The foyer always had coffee or tea available with a fruit bowl, candy and hot biscuits in the afternoon. The shuttle ran frequently between about three hotels and the airport. Be aware that this hotel is not in the "hub of activity" however there is a restaurant at the front of the hotel which had a pianist on the Saturday and Sunday. The meals were reasonable and tasty. We walked around the Bay to a Park and then on a Pedestrian bridge over the highway to the Burlingame Shopping Centre one day. Another day we got the Caltrain into the city and the Bart back to the airport and then the shuttle back to the hotel. It is quite expensive if you want to go to the City all the time but we had done all the "tourist things' on a previous trip. The stay was very enjoyable and good value.
