“Decent alternative to hotels”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

This was my second trip to Max's, the first being several years ago. On this trip, I was with several business associates (party of about 15). We had a table arranged in a corner of the restaurant, but that did not really shield us from the noise; I found conversation difficult with any but the closest of my table mates.

Before dinner I ordered The Ultimate Maxarita - save your money, as this drink is a waste of very decent tequila.

Our party ordered from the standard menu. I chose the chicken picatta. We had a variety of appetizers served family style. Appetizers were fairly standard renderings. To its credit, the calamari was indeed crisp and not fairly tender - not the chewy, rubber band stuff one often gets.

My entree was nothing out of the ordinary.

Overall, I would say that Max's is probably better food than you would get at the nearby hotels, and if you are staying in one of the hotels, Max's has the advantage of providing a good walk.

“Ok food, but took for ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

Took them for ever to bring our food. On the other hand, they did try to accommodate us by adjusting the climate control. I also liked that they are open between lunch and dinner.

“Very average”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Compares to a Denny's food average and noisy bar. Live music if you are into that but it was loud. Staff were good and did there best but as there are no other places close you have to put up with it.

“Lunch is excellent Dinner is ok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

Came here for brunch as a couple, and had a few starters and meals. Everything I ordered was delicious! Their muffins are fresh and moist. Loved it!
Came here for a birthday dinner with family. I ordered a hot sandwich which was ok and the bread wasn't as fresh. It was a little stale. I tried others plates and it was ok as well. I would definately come here again, but for brunch only where its a little more fresher! Nice service btw! :-)
