“Nice choice!”
Reviewed July 29, 2007

I got a fantastic rate for this hotel, $89.00 for my first night, and decided to stay. While this was a bit away from the airport, the shuttle gets you there in about 10-15 minutes. Also, with the BART going right to the airport terminal, you can take the shuttle right to the BART station and vice versa for easy access to the city!

The bed and pillows were really comfy (to each his own I guess) and I felt the staff was really friendly.

This property is very convenient to the SFO airport. The lobby and common areas are impressive. The front desk staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean. The bed was fair and pillows were terrible. The view out the window was of huge power lines and the freeway. Includes refrig and microwave. Problem is there are no stores close by. The hotel does have a small mini mart in the lobby. There is a restaurant in the hotel. You will not find many options in the area. I did see a Sizzler restaurant on the way to the airport. Looked like some of the other hotels had restaurants. I was disappointed to find out that there was no continental breakfast. I guess some took advantage of the $11.00 breakfast buffet. Overall it was ok. I will probably try another option on the next visit to SFO.

Stayed here on business for 3 days in January 2007.

Good hotel at a reasonable price. Wireless internet included which worked well. Breakfast pleasant, but with a limited menu - started at 6:00am which I found useful.

Room decently large with 2 queen beds and a good sized working area. Bathroom large and nicely laid out, though the tub is shallow if you prefer a bath. Pool never seemed open while I was there. The gym looked OK, though I never had time to use it.

Location is good if you're doing business out along 101 south of the airport. Good access to/from 101. View is much better on the bay side of the hotel - the other side looks out across 101 which is not great scenery.

Hotel does dinner in its restaurant, but there are much better places to eat in Burlingame and San Mateo, just a short drive away across 101.

I'd stay here again when travelling on business in this area.

  • Liked — Nice room with good facilities for working
  • Disliked — Shallow bathtub

We stayed here while on a family vacation - two adults and one toddler. The two double-bed room was clean and spacious, though when we requested a crib, we were given a playpen. My daughter didn't want to sleep there, so she slept on one of the double beds with me. A minor inconvenience overall. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the amenities included breakfast in the morning, the ability to print out our boarding passes in the business center, and limited grounds for toddler exploration. It was quiet - no rowdiness, which was much appreciated. It's certainly not close to any tourist attractions, but because we were visiting friends and family in the city and the peninsula, it was a good stopping place. Plus, we didn't have to pay to park our rental car!

  • Liked — clean, comfortable rooms
  • Disliked — limited restaurant facilities onsite

Stayed at this hotel in December 2005. It's a LONG drive after you get off on 101. mediocre room with bathroom door not shutting well. Breakfast waiter with attitude did not help. One side of the hotel is facing the freeway. Not too noisy ,but not a great view either. If you have to choose a Hilton Garden Inn at SFO airport , choose the SFO north way on Gateway blvd. That one has much friendlier staff and easier access.

Hotel was nice and clean. The best thing about this hotel is they make sure smokers stay in smoking rooms. You must sign a paper when you check in that states if you smoke in a NON-smoking room, it'll cost you $100 a night. WONDERFUL! If only all hotels had this! I took the shuttle from and too SFO without any problems. I'll be back.

I have never stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn before but was not impressed. Our room was booked as a non-smoking room but we could smell a hint of smoke and air freshner in the room. It was late and we were exhausted so we just let it go. When we got into bed, I kept hearing a noise that sounded like a toilet running. Turned out that it was the refrigerator and a dripping sound went on all night. Also, the radio alarm clock's light was so bright, we had to cover it with a pillow case and then it went off and woke us up at 6:00 AM on a Sunday morning! So, we had a lousy night's sleep and were looking forward to a nice breakfast. When we went downstairs to the restaurant, we found out it was a continental breakfast with a price of $7.95 each. I had thought that there would be a real restaurant with a breakfast cooked to order. And most places that offer a continental breakfast, include it in the price. For $99, we had a small room, little sleep and left without eating breakfast. Definitely a poor choice.
