Note, I am rating this hotel based on its status as a business traveler sort of economical hotel...it is not a luxury spot and I didn't expect it to be. If you want luxury and you hotel experience to be a significant part of your vacation, this is probably not the spot for you. I needed a home base to relax in, but close enough to do some activities in the city.

Finding a reasonably priced hotel near the SF area in the summer vacation travel time is...difficult. And by reasonable, I mean under $150, without being in a slightly sketchy part of the bay area. Finding one with a pool, even tougher. Finding one that accepts dogs without costing an arm and a leg, and has a pool...well you get the picture.

Red Roof Inn SFO...you fit the bill perfectly.

Very clean room, and free parking. Take note that a hotel about a mile away charges $20 per night for parking, on top of a room fee that was similar. Didn't have any problems finding a spot.

The room wasn't huge, but spacious enough with a good size desk, lots of outlets (hurrah silicon valley hotels for us geeky people with too many tech devices), a king sized bed, a nice big flat screen tv (two hbo channels), and a bathroom with tub/shower. There isn't really carpet, but a hardwood-ish floor instead. The tub itself was a tad older, but it was clean, and all the other bathroom fixtures functioned well.

Lobby has 24 hour coffee available. Had to call down for a late check out as well as an extra toothbrush, and staff was friendly/helpful both times.

Partner used the pool, and said it was fine (though not huge, definitely clean and very sufficient).

The room was facing the pool, and so didn't have any problems with noise.

What I really liked about this place was the cleanliness and updated rooms combined with the proximity to the Bay Trail. This is a walking/bike path that was pretty much at the edge of both sides of the parking lot. One end takes you along a slough which parallels hwy 101, and the other directly along the Bay where you can watch the airplanes land. Nice flat area to stroll in.

Also, it's within a mile, I discovered, of downtown Burlingame which seems to have a plethora of eating options (standard american fare and ethnic options too...oh and blue line pizza!!). 20 minutes or so to Golden Gate Park (depending on traffic). Very convenient to everything.

I will very definitely be back when staying in the area.

The one, very small thing that was a bit odd...the room window did not open. The ac/heating unit does have a fan option to draw in outside air, but the weather in Burlingame is so lovely, being able to open a window for fresh air might be nice. But it was all fine. Figured I would just note in case it was a make or break for people.

We've stayed in this hotel for a night and it was a quiet of experience. The room's size was adequate for two, clean, colorful, and fresh. Our room was viewed to the lagoon and that was amazing. Ruben Lopez, the receptionist, was a great help, friendly with us and could check us in that night because we couldn't find a room in the other hotel, it was so overbooked in everyone hotel neat SFO airport.

Room Tip: The rooms viewed the lagoon was sunny and a bet more preferable

We have started in hotel for two nights with our three years old daughter. Overall good experience. Staffs at resultant are really well. The people on transit mostly occupy this hotel.
Room was clean. Area around the hotel is very good. We went for a walk near hotel. It was good experience. Morning complimentary breakfast was also okay.

Room Tip: Take room on ground floor.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was of adequate size, very clean with the decor in good condition. Surprisingly good view of San Francisco Bay from our room, although I think that was just our good luck on the day. Very good 24/7 restaurant on site. For a one night, straight off the airliner, stay, it could hardly be bettered.

I stay at this hotel frequently for work and love the staff. Rubin, Nancy, George and the whole front desk staff always go out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. The rooms have been recently renovated with updated bedding, paint and flat screen TV's. There's a diner attached to the hotel that's open 24 hours also. This is a budget hotel so don't expect Westin-like beds or amenities but for a budget hotel near SFO with a great staff, this is the best choice I've found.

Room Tip: Get a room on the East side for the best internet reception.
