“loved it”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

Loved the burger and cherry coke! Classic diner food with great taste. All the waitresses who served us at the counter were so nice. Car show outside was cool. And saying we ate at the original was pretty awesome. Plus the iconic big boy statue in front for pictures was a hit. Only con... parking sucked. Pretty sure due to the car show. So keep in mind if visiting on a Friday night. Would definitely go back.

"Classic," "nice," "cool," "iconic." You really know how to make our day! Thanks so much for all the kind words. I'm happy to hear you had a great time and will be coming back. Parking can be tight on really busy nights, but there is parking all around us!

Have a great day,

“A blast from the past!”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Hamburgers, fries, onion rings, chocolate shakes, hot fudge sundaes - and more. Right out of the 50's and at very reasonable prices. (Though a bit more than 34 cents for a burger, which was the price then.) Same wonderful flavors.

Think "Happy Days" and "American Graffitti" and you won't be disappointed!

A restaurant that keeps the menu and ambiance they began with - "if it ain't broke don't fix it." There are many other restaurants that could take a page out of their book instead of constantly "updating" and losing their unique (and broad) appeal.

I love this place! Recently, I tried the American burger and it was amazing! Excellent in all regards!

Our waitress, Claudia, went out if her way to make our visit a great one.

Can't wait to return. Thanks!

“go for the history--but ask for hotter fries”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

It was with great happiness that I walked past this place because I enjoy old-school architecture and this has it! The place was packed. We had a Bob's Big Boy just because it's the namesake dish---we split a combo since we don't eat many burgers/fast food. Burger was great with reportedly fresh ground meat and you could savor that difference. Fries had been neglected too long so that was a buzzkill. But overall, the experience is fab if you like Americana.

It's still so weird to hear the architecture described as "old-school!" When we opened up 65 years ago this was the norm! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, and now we absolutely love being a great reminder of classic Americana. Thanks so much for coming on in to try it out. As a sidenote, I'm sorry to hear your fries were a bit underwhelming. That's not what we're about at all! I really hope you'll come back soon so we can show you just how great all of our food can be.

Have a great day,

“Authentic Diner from the Past!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

I can always count on this Bob's Big Boy to give me a comfortable meal! This is not a re-creation of a diner...it IS the original diner and is a Historical Site. Hence, the old leather seat booths may be split here and there, and a few things may be a bit shabby, but you are back in time. This restaurant is extremely reminiscent of my childhood visits to a nearby Bob's Big Boy, right down to the original menu, with a few additions here and there. Cannot help myself from ordering my old standard Big Boy hamburger and fries, which is now $7.99 (add a great side salad for $1.00), order your grandkids grilled cheese (or burger, chicken), fries and a drink for 3.99, and you have spent comparable to a fast food adventure, but you have the ambience and the great fast service.

This is always a family place, with all kinds of visitors of all ages and persuasions. You may have to wait for a table (pick your times), but it doesn't take that long as the restaurant is pretty big. While you're waiting, check out the autographed photos of the Hollywood Stars (past and present) that have visited, as this Bob's is around the corner from Warner Brothers, NBC and down the road from Disney Studios. We DID have the occasion to see a pop star eating here with her group a couple of years ago!

Best bonus score....Senior discount 10% when I paid the check! You can get some extra fun if you go on classic car night once a month out back in the parking lot, with competition for many categories as well as costume contests for adults and kids. And don't forget to take your photo with Big Boy out front!
