Holiday Inn Buena Park Hotel & Conference Center
Ranked #4 of 19 Hotels in Buena Park
Reviewed June 3, 2010

My husband and I stayed here for three nights.
I found that it was a great place to stay which was good value for money.

There is plenty of free car parking and you are very close to Disney and local shops etc.

The reception staff were really nice and chatty.
The room itself was large. We had two big beds which was good as it was really hot whilst we were there.
The bathroom had everything you required so no complaints.

The pool looked good but we did not use this as it was very busy.

The only complaint i would have is about the other guests. They were very noisey and ran along the corridors making lots of noise.
Think people forget that not everyone wants to be awake at 3am!!

Overall a nice place to stay which is good value for money.

We appreciate your detailed review -- thank you for the feedback. Though we apologize that some of the other guests were too loud (I hope you notified our front desk so we could ask them to be more quiet!), hotel management and staff are very pleased that you enjoyed our rooms and services and location and value. We look forward to your next visit!

We, as management, are very amazed and concerned by your comments, as we've spent the past year renovating the entire hotel, elevators, public areas and guestrooms and have just recently replaced the carpeting; in addition, the entire hotel is non-smoking, including all guestrooms, so it is a huge concern if one fo the rooms has the odor of smoke. We will be contacting you directly to get more information so that we can address and resolve the issues mentioned. Thank you for your candor.

This hotel comes highly rated and I agree with most of the reviews.
My brother upgraded his room to a pool side with patio, but we could just as easily sat by the pool.
Pool was warm enough for us to swim in even when it was 59 degrees and rainy (this saved us from going nuts in the room).
Rooms are standard rooms with no fridge and missing the fridge was my only complaint. The rooms seem small after my last few visits to Vegas, but I'm just spoiled.
Don't visit Knotts on a saturday. I guess all local kids come and the lines were nuts. Roller coasters were all 60-90 min lines.
Don't count on kids eat free or packages that include food. There are lots of places to walk to that are better and will cost the same. Denny and Fuddruckers are next door and both Rock. Eat at Medieval Times for sure and book online using their web specials to save big. We got a family of 4 for $120.
All the staff at the hotel were nice, and the maid service was great. Everything was very clean. I liked having lots of pool towels and ample pool chairs.
Overall I am very pleased with what we got for the money.
This was part of an Alaska airline package where kids fly free and eat free (with paid adult). I checked around and could not beat this deal.

So glad you enjoyed our location and our pool (even on a rainy day!). We're sorry you missed having a fridge in the room -- during your next visit, please ask at the front desk to see if they have one available for you to use during your stay! We always love to hear when guests love our service and cleanliness and most of all found 'value' when staying at the Holiday Inn Buena Park. Looking forward to your next visit to the Orange County area!

Things were good until we had a scheduled a trip to go to Disneyland in the morning at their regular time of 7:30 am. The driver left before that time to take some people to the bus and then another group to Disneyland and they a\said he would not be back and ready for another trip until 8:30 am. This is unacceptable! We got our family ready for nothing! Incredibly poor service!

We are so sorry that you were disappointed in the shuttle schedule - it does vary depending on guest requests and we do try our best to post the hours. We do request that guests stop by and sign up for a shuttle time at the bell desk so that we are aware of the guest request and are sure not to make changes at that time to the shuttle schedule.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days at the end of our California holiday. Although it wasn't the best hotel of the trip it was a nice place. The room was tidy and clean. The only problem we had was the T.V set was a bit fuzzy but they had it replaced within an hour. We enjoyed the swimming pool during the night...although it was winter, it was still warm enough to swim.....and the pool was heated. I would stay at this hotel again.

We are so pleased that you chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Buena Park during your California vacation and that you were pleased with the rooms and service (and of course the heated pool!). We look forward to your next visit to the USA and California!

We made a quick trip up from San Diego to take the kids to Medieval Times. The hotel staff was great, but the hotel was dingy and felt old. The room was clean, but small with poor lighting. At about 3:00 in the morning we found out how thin the walls were when the couple next door began enjoying each other’s company. It was as if they were in our room. I'm glad our kids did didn't wake up or we would have had a lot of questions as to what was going on next door to us.

I would have a hard time recommending this hotel, but if you aren't going to be spending a lot of time in the room the price is right and the location to local attractions is good.

First, thank you for your comments and we are very pleased that you liked our staff so much -- our employees work very hard to ensure our guests are happy and we are pleased, as management, to know that their efforts are recognized. We were surprised to understand that you felt the hotel looked old - we've been working very hard in 2009 to upgrade all areas of the hotel including guestrooms, lobby and public areas. We will continue to update the hotel in 2010 with the inclusion of flat screen TV's in all guestrooms by the end of the year. In addition, though we do offer energy efficient lighting in the guestrooms, it shouldn't be dim - but possibly the bulbs need to be replaced and we've added that to our preventative maintenance ruitine. Thank you again for posting your comments as that is how we learn and grow as a service organization.

Hotel is in a convenient location near Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland. Easy access to freeways - 91, 5, 605, 57. We traveled all over the area from Legoland to Redondo, East to Brea, North to Pasadena, and it was really great to have a hotel with easy access to the freeways. Hotel was clean, kid friendly, and had very good customer service. The rate was really good, save your money over the hotels that are just a "bit" close to the parks, it is worth it! The only downside is there was no gym for a workout, but after a day of walking the amusement park, we found we didn't need it!

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and took advantage of our convenient location! We would like to clarify one item in your review -- we do, in fact, have a work out room -- it's on the second floor just outside of the elevators (towards the front of the building). We truly apologize that we didn't inform you more effectively about our work out facility - but are happy that you got your exercise walking around the parks. On behalf of the management and staff, we look forward to your next visit to the Orange County area.
