“A TRUE GEM FOR BUELLTON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

This place is fantastic. As you approach the giant brick and mortar exterior you don't realize what a beautiful place it is inside. Chef Brooke is a young and exciting chef with a creative culinary mind. She's brilliant really. The wine tasting wall is awesome. The only place I know of in the SY Valley where you can freely taste dozens of different wines of all price ranges by the taste, 1/2 glass or full glass. The service is fantastic due to the very hands on management style of the manager Joe. This place is a MUST for any visit to the SY Valley.

“Nice, Dining Experience Though A Bit Pricey”
Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Have been to Avant a few times. The self-serve wine station is a fun way to taste wine and is always fun for our friends. You get a credit card and taste all you want. The wait staff and the staff in general has always been friendly and welcoming to us. The menu is limited but does offer a few somewhat interesting choices. The sliders are tasty and I like the soups and salads. The food is expensive so your bill will quickly add up. The last time I went with my family, the lunch bill, with two tastings was $84 for our table of four. Not terrible but it can get expensive quickly.
The atmosphere is casual and relaxing. I do enjoy going there. They have live music certain nights. I haven't ventured out those nights but will plan on it one of these evenings.

“wonderful service and a great idea!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

This place was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint! The server was really attentive and made excellent recommendations for foods and wines. The habanero infused truffles are AMAZING!

The idea of the place is amazing. They have a bunch of wines (maybe 40-50) on tap and you can go up and swipe a "credit card" they give you which then tallies how much you have bought. You can do a taste, a half glass or a whole glass. It was great! My girlfriend and I were able to try 6 different wines for only $12. It was a great way to do wine tasting. And it's fun too!

“Seeing is believing”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

We had gotten several recommendations for Avant Tapas and Wine. It is definitely worth a try just to see their selection of wines representing many of the small wineries in the area. I had a glass for Brander Cab...very nice. We also had the poppers and a Margarita pizza... both were good and the prices were fair. Believe it or not, I was most impressed with the facility itself since it is in a 40,000 sq ft industrial building that processes wine for a lot of the local wineries. We had a view of the operation from our table on one side of the room and a view of the mountains on the other....very, very impressive. We were even able to go out onto the cat walk for a closer look at the wine processing facility (which was emmaculate and a true work of art). Good food, fair price and a glimpse into how wine is made. This will what this area is all about. Also, the staff was very nice.

“If you have time to wait an hour for a cold cheese plate, this is the place for you.”

I have been here many times, and probably two out of ten were good. Slow service, very overpriced and really food isn't all that.
