Perfect for a Mini Golf Vacation!!! Cant beat the Stay & Play Package - Fabulous Golf Course - Great Shopping! Staff Gorgeous Hotel - Lovely Rooms - Variety of Dining at Hotel and Golf Course. Spa was a winner as was outdoor pool area - Not to mention . . . all types of gambling - What more could you want?! Oh yes, concerts on weekends. My rec would be skip the concert & go during the week to avoid the crowds and minimize the cost. Staff friendly and accomodating - anxious to please and show off their beautiful resort. And all only 1hour+ from the Bay Area!

We arrived at around 12:00 noon on May 22, and were pleasantly surprised that our room was available early. The rooms are very nice and include glassed in showers and deep soaking tubs in the over-sized bathrooms, and even a small Keurig coffee maker with coffee pods. The pool/hot tub area in the resort is incredibly beautiful! There are private cabanas available for a nominal fee, but were hardly necessary as we were the only two swimming at 9:30 am. There is a snack bar, plentiful lounge chairs and and the pool was built with a rock waterfall that is gorgeous. Although we weren't able to use the golf course this trip, we've heard from others that it is a wonderful course and will allow enough time to include that activity during our next visit. We are already planning our next trip to this lovely resort! As for the casino, they had a variety of card games - Blackjack, Blackjack Switch, 3-card poker, 4-card poker, Caribbean Stud, etc. and numerous machines to choose from. They hold a Texas Hold'em tournament on Wednesday evenings with reasonably priced buy-ins and very good payouts. As for the review regarding the class of clientele - the management can hardly be expected to turn customers away because of their dress or because they're missing some teeth.... LOL. You're going to run into any and all types of folks in a casino, including some who are still learning our language. No room for snobbery here...

Beautiful place in the heart of the Capay valley...Been there 4 times -BUT, UNREALISTICALLY expensive ($290 per room/per night min.- and that's with AAA discount!). This last time, I bought a concert ticket to Club 88 concert BUT, failed to make a hotel reservation for a couple of weeks later...oops. SOLD OUT! Now here's the thing...I did it 3 months ahead and found it/find it difficult to believe? There was no cancellation for a room on the date, as I called several times weekly. I believe something is very skewed with how they operate and handle some of their business, so be wary. If you have a golf date/concert/or just gambling? Don't WAIT to make the reservation. The rooms are large and lovely - They've really gouged the traveler because there are NO OTHER hotels in this rather remote area (except one B&B). I find the management very nonresponsive on two occasions to related issues. "3rd strike" and you're "out" with me as an overnight traveler. That's the case with Cache Creek. Won't be returning. Too much trouble. MANY other casinos in California...Believe me...

Room Tip: Goodluck. All the same. They do little to give you any selection in any regard. Doesn't seem...

First the good news. THE HOTEL: The suite and the hotel were very nice. Everything from the amenities to the furniture and the service was 5 star. We stayed overnight on a weekend and had a top floor suite with a view of the beautiful green hills. The furniture was similar to the modern design I encountered at Vegas strip joints like "The Hotel" at Mandalay Bay. The bed was a like a cloud and I slept so well, but the pillows were a little too big, if that is bad thing. There were a total of three TVs, one in the bedroom, on in the living area, and another in the bath. I loved the bar area, and the separate 1/2 bath in the living area was a nice touch. About the bath...if I could design my perfect master bath this would be it. Two separate sinks and vanities, a huge tub and dual head rain showers, not to mention the lovely orange scented bath products. We also had several spa treatments that were OK to fabulous, but the facilities were nice and the pool looks like a gem in the summer.
Food was exceptional starting with what I thought would be a ho-hum lunch but included a great Cuban sandwich at one of their cafes, then the room service breakfast that arrived within 20 minutes of ordering, but what stole the show was dinner at C2 steakhouse. We were made to feel very welcome by the maitre'd and sommelier Eric, even while we waited for our tables at the lovely bar. I rarely praise a martini, since it is just booze, but this one was very tasty. The dinner was a great experience starting with the hot bread (3 diff. butters), water, and then appetizers. We listened to what was recommended and they did not steer us wrong. We did drop a lot of coin at this spot, but it was to be expected when you include a bottle of Perrier Jouet and a Margaux with a traditional lobster, caviar, escargot, oysters, etc. kind of meal. Once we left our little dinner heaven, it all went down hill from there.

In a word it is ANTI-CLIMATIC, both at night and during the day. Now I must say I did not lose money at the casino, but rather won a bit so this is not a sour grapes type review. I felt I was in a low class gambling venue where people come to blow their welfare check. I mean folks with missing teeth, men with long dirty finger nails and the smell of sebum dirty hair was prevalent on a weekend at all hours. Alcohol is only served at the bar area, which made gamblers "reserve" their spots and even do collective booze runs for others at their tables. I also had a hard time understanding "English" spoken by some of the dealers, but what was a true let down was not being able to gamble at craps the traditional way. You throw the dice, then dependent on the color of the higher die, they flip a card to determine the "roll" Snore!!! I can't believe I will say this, but the slots were more exciting.
Bottom line: Go for the hotel and stay away from the casino.

Room Tip: Ask for top floors and with views of the hills

I went to a concert at Cache Creek Casino this past weekend to see the O'Jays and the sound system totally sucked. First of all, one of the mirophones was not working correctly (the same thing happened 2 weeks ago when I saw "Joe" there). Now one would think with all the checks that are performed prior to a performance that this should have been caught. In addition, the band was so loud that you couldn't really enjoy the performance. I think the Cache Creek management need to fix or replace the defective microphone & sound system and may I add one more suggestion...put some sort of sound gate around where the drummer plays so that the groups singing can be heard.

We spent 2 days at this casino. The rooms are pretty, but very pricey, considering there's not much to do at this casino. There were no shows during the week, a few average restaraunts, and no nightlife except the games. Also, no free drinks except water or soda while you gamble. Seemed like the "go-to" place for the over sixty crowd. We won't be back.
