“Close to Yosemite”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Room was alright, clean, spacious and with a wonderfull view to the mountains, the fields and the sunset from the bed. One really nice and helpful receptionist and one really sour receptionist! The room could never go to this high price if it wasn't so close to Yosemite. The hottub looked so dirty you couldn't see the buttom so we wouldn't let our daughter go in. Very limited breakfast! And small breakfast area. Only seating outside. That was allright though because we had great weather.

This is a quality retro-motel that is clan, quiet and well managed. Our room was great, the grounds are nice too. The staff is helpful and professional and there when and if you need them. Will definitely stay there again!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, however, the room was dated. Shag carpet, awkward room layout for 2 queen beds. The breakfast was typical as other continentals. The price was excessive, $135. The location is convenient for Bodie State Park. I gave it a poor rating based on the excessive cost.

Driving thru gorgeous scenery all day on the east side of Sierra Nevadas, got tired and pulled into Ruby Inn in very small Bridgeport. Asked 2 questions: How much for room and how is your wifi? For 2 people, 1 Q bed they quoted: $106 + 12% tax and wifi very good. Got an old, cramped room but clean and bed good. Very few outlets and wifi TERRIBLE. I was having internet withdrawals and almost left, but my spouse was tired and convinced me to stay. Go to bed early as there is nothing else to do. The breakfast was a surprise: juice, hot chocolate, fresh pastries, PEELED cold hard boiled eggs. Staff were nice. I would think hard about staying again.

Room Tip: Room with parking right outside the door: easy loading/unloading.

Bridgeport is a quiet one main street town that harkens back to the past. The Ruby Inn fits in just fine. It is a motel from the old school. Very well maintained (museum quality), simple rooms, very clean....a personal window to the past days of travel. The owners and staff are wonderful and you are sure to enjoy a break in this little piece of the old times. You will not be disappointed....try something different.

Room Tip: Ask the owners about things to do and where to eat

We stayed for one night on our way out of Yosemite and on to Sequoia Park. It was a very comfortable room with a king bed, lots of room and we parked our car right outside of the room so loading and unloading the car was very easy. Easy access to ice machine and a continental breakfast came with the cost of the room. Room was very clean and quiet even though it was on the main road.

The room was cramped, the furniture was cheap, the old TV on a stand blocked the door, and most of the fittings in the bathroom were in desperate need of replacement. And if you are in the shower when the person next door starts theirs, you will be either frozen (me) or scalded (wife). The breakfast consisted of pastries and coffee - the Hays Street Cafe was a big improvement. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful, but that doesn't make up for the $120 entry fee. If this is the best place in Bridgeport, next time we will stay in Lee Vining and drive a little further.
