I have been going there since I was a child. Please keep this little slice of heaven clean and pristine as it was when the Paiutes visited the area centuries ago! DebiLynn

“Not like the old days!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2007

Well, I remember this place when it was secluded and clean, nearly 17 years ago. I visited this place again last week and can tell you its not like it used to be.

They have now put in bathrooms nearby (like I want someone going into those and using it and then getting in the hotspring with me!) The parking lot area is more developed and it seemed to be a bit more trashed.

When we got there to take a dip in either pool (upper or lower) we found the upper to be pretty hot. The lower was being used and while we were there, another couple seemed to race down the hill and she stripped and hopped in before we even had a chance to take a dip. Since we don't like to share a dip we just left. Nothing missed. The better hotsprings are near Mammoth, anyway. Like hilltop spring, shepherd's and crabcooker. But even crabcooker is hard to get to now since they plowed the road to keep you out. It was dry, too, and the water was pretty weak.

“worth checking out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2006

great views from these pods..worth driving from bridgeport to see if they are crowded or not..10 people is too many. water is a good temp, not too hot, not too cool. be sure to find all the pods, as they are pretty spread out. great view of eastern sierras. dont need 4 wheel to get there. bring something to put your stuff on..no benches or logs or anything to keep stuff out of dirt.
