“Good breakfast”
Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

I've only gone for breakfast. Both times I've gone I've had very good meals. Ingredients are fresh and served hot. I did have to flag down service for coffee refills the first visit but they were on top of it the second time.
There is a very awkward waiting area with the tables very close by. I watched a lady staring at a family eating and studying what they ordered - creepy. So if you have a front table, you might want to ask for another. I also noticed that our party of 3 was passed over by two other parties of three since they seemed to know an employee. We did get served, but that sure did peeve me.
It seems the decor could use some sprucing. Walls are quite plain and the waiting area could use a reconfiguration.

“Breakfast at Mj's”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Awesome breakfast and great value, the portions are excellent and even a bit to large. The only down fall is the wait because they are always full which tells you something. The only downside is your order takes a long time to get after ordering

“Breakfast heaven!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Were in Antioch visiting family, Uncle suggested this place in old downtown Brentwood a few minutes away. He said they are relatively new to the scene, a few friends that decided to try their hand at the restaurant business. So glad they did!

The wait for a table was minimal at 9:30am on a Saturday morning (no more than 10 minutes), space was clean and cheery. Their breakfast menu is vast, take your time. Everything is made from scratch in-house, a definite plus.

I settled on the Banana Pecan Pancakes and wasn't disappointed! I've attached a pic - three giant pancakes topped with sliced banana, pecans, and real whipped-cream topping (no fake stuff). I had to struggle to finish them off, but couldn't stop eating! My wife got a breakfast scramble that she said was delicious. Uncle got a Belgain Waffle, which was about the biggest waffle i've ever seen. We left full and happy.

Prices were reasonable, typical of breakfast foods. Atmosphere was cheery, and the owners/operators were a pleasure to interact with.

This is the place to go. Mmmmm.

“Great breakfast”

Wonderful food but slow service. Patience pays off but don't go if you are in a hurry. All of the items are homemade as far as I know and the pastries are great. Try the bundt cake for sure.

“Good Food, Fresh Ingredients”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

This place is a regular for us when we don't feel like fixing a meal. The food is fresh and wholesome. The restaurant does not cut corners--the hash browns are made from fresh potatoes that are cooked and grated on site. I appreciate that they offer a half sandwich paired with a salad or soup for $7.95. The restaurant's tuna salad is exceptionally good. Unfortunately, due to inadequate staffing, waitresses are harried and perfunctory rather than pleasant. However, this does not keep the crowds away as this is a very popular place.
