Daniel our server provided us with excellent customer service, he went the extra mile to make sure we were taken taken of. Keep up the Daniel. The food was great we had they sweet potato totes with ranch dressing,BBQ pulled pork and BBQ cheese burger with French fries. The food is very good.

The menu is large offering appetizers; entrees of beef, chicken, fish, and vegan choices. Our server's name was Jemia. She has a cute smile, and can tell you everything you need to know about the food. Jemia recommended the Moroccan chicken which came with a deliciously lite couscous.

The beer battered fish resembled McDonald's filet o' fish a little too much, but was served hot and tasted OK, which is why food gets 'very good' rather than 'excellent'.

We visited Lazy Dog Cafe in Brea this time because it seemed the best way to celebrate the joint birthdays of a family member and his dog. Jemia offered us some birthday dessert. We only declined because we had cake waiting at home.

We prefer the patio at Lazy Dog Cafe because everyone seems to appreciate and respect our dogs. Additionally there is a particular camaraderie among the dog owners. Last night a man gave his daughter a tour around the tables asking permission to greet various dogs.

The patio floor is food and debris free, the servers are nimble enough to navigate furniture, strollers, and dogs. The lighting is relaxed, but too dim to read the menu. Heaters are set up for cooler nights. I haven't tried the fire-pit seating yet, but it looks inviting. (Being dog friendly earns this restaurant an 'excellent' rating, but the poor table lighting - outdoors- brings it down just a bit.)

Dinner for two, with three happy hour drinks and one french-fry appetizer, was $52 before tip.

We have eaten here three times and never been disappointed. Food and service are excellent and prices quite reasonable for the substantial portions . They also have some unique offerings such as the crisp lavosh flatbreads, unusual salads, ceviche and my husband's personal favorite...the hush puppies. We do especially appreciate the attention to detail in serving. Hot food comes on hot plates. My flatbread had a paper underneath to keep it from sweating and softening on its hot plate. My husband's cup of au jus for his pot roast sandwich sat on a small napkin to keep any stray juice from sogging up his sandwich. Also, any bread we have had has been excellent. So often restaurants seem to skimp on bread quality thinking no one will notice.

This is the second Lazy Dog I have visited. The staff is ready to serve and the chefs to accommodate your palate. I had the Lunch Chicken Noodle Bowl and I asked for teriyaki sauce on the side. MMMM-good! Mom had the Spinach Chicken and (?) and was thoroughly delighted. Portions are just right so you don't feel grossly stuffed nor are you still needing more food. We splurged and topped off the meal with the Apple dessert. Hint - if you are old-fashioned like us, ask them to sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar on top before serving it. Wonderful and enough for the two of us. The décor is not overwhelming and although it can get a tish loud at times, we were able to converse in normal tones. Consistently busy the whole time we were there but it never impacted the service!
