“Good, but could be better”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

Stayed here for two nights. Would consider returning...

First of all the pluses. Brawley is a small town, and so choice is limited. This is the best of the options available, and I'd choose this hotel again. Great continental breakfast (eggs, muffins, juice, fruit, etc.) open at 5AM. Yes that's right 5AM. FABULOUS. Thank you Brawley Inn. Clean rooms, great maid service, and very reasonable prices makes me want to come here again....except...

I have to go to Starbucks to actually use the internet. Brawley Inn has contracted internet to a company that insists on wrapping every web-page you visit with an advertising frame. This completely breaks many sites such as flickr, trip-advisor, etc. and makes using the internet almost impossible for me. So I end up cramming a lot of stuff into a coffee session at Starbucks. If they fixed their internet, they would get 4 or 5 stars from me.

Would I come again? Maybe....It certainly has hope.

kind of a reply to some earlier reviews. if you do not want to have cleaning staff knock on your door at 8:00 in the morning, there is always a do not disturb sign is available. have you ever stayed at a hotel before? small towns like this can not get a better hotel than this one. the service and price are great. if you are looking for a five star resort you would not be in southeastern CA. I can not compliment the staff more than always staying at this hotel when working in the area.

Room Tip: building three seems a little quieter from traffic.

Husband and I stayed here on a leisure trip to Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes) when we decided to go for a two day trip and chose NOT to stay in a small trailer with 5 other people and 2 dogs! Can you blame us? I picked the Brawley Inn based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. We got a room in the back building which was very quiet, lots of parking space here. The room was large and comfortable with a large desk, rolling desk chair, small sofa and coffee table. There is no closet, but there is a large armoire. Room has a good size bathroom and a microwave and small refrigerator too. The beds were just ok, linens were fine but the mattress was hard. Room was clean, bathroom includes a wall-mounted magnifying mirror which was a nice touch. Not so nice was the dirty fingerprints still on the mirror, and the dirty fingerprints on the door jamb and around the light switch. Chain lock on the door was broken but security lock worked fine. Small problem with the toilet in room 305: after flushing the water keeps running until I took the tank lid off and seated the flapper by hand. Not fun in the middle of the night. Needs some maintenance. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. Desk clerks are bi-lingual (English/Spanish). We would stay here again. Tip: take a traveling night-light as the bathroom is pitch black at night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back building #4.

The staff was welcoming and the breakfast was filling. The beds were what you would find in a much more expensive hotel.

The room looked great when I opened the door but on further inspection it was anything but. There was a dark stain on the blanket, a piece of blue plastic on the rug and pillow feathers on the sofa. Their restaruant next door (Aspen in the desert) was excellent. I decided to stay anyway but when the room next to mine was rented it was so loud, it was like having them in the room with me. I asked to be moved, which the clerk did, but the next room smelled of mildew, so I decided to get a refund and keep on driving. I would not stop again, even though it looks gracious.

My husband and I are staying at the Brawley Inn for quite sometime (6 or 7 weeks) because of work. We arrived on a Tuesday (Apr. 19) and paid for a week's stay. After telling the women at the front desk we would be down here for awhile and we would renew our room each week, they proceeded to keep calling our room saying we are checking out on Apr. 23 AFTER we have already paid for an entire week! We also had to switch rooms the first night because the air conditioner was not working, there were blood stains on the white comforter not to mention, two other unidentifiable stains. The women at the front desk are not helpful and even told us that a street in town didn't exist when we were looking for a certain restaurant on that particular street. On a positive note, the rooms are big and so is the pool. We've stayed in other hotels down here and the sad thing is, this is the best one! If you HAVE to come to Brawley (I don't know who the hell would unless it's for work) I guess I would recommend this place. If you don't have to stay in Brawley, find a better place in El Centro.

I stayed at the Brawley Inn with a friend for a girls' weekend of sightseeing.

First, the good: the room was big and very clean. The towels and sheets were clean. Good shower, lots of water pressure. It was quiet; the room next door had a bunch of kids and we didn't hear them once. The beds were comfortable. A Von's right next door made it convenient when we needed something. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean and the grounds were very well-kept.

The bad: the front desk clerk was very unfriendly. She did not make eye contact or say anything that was not necessary to get us checked in. My friend complimented her on her nails and I agreed they looked nice and she did not acknowledge the compliment or even look at us. There are several buildings in this hotel, and she did not show us a map or tell us where our room was. We had to drive around to find it. A bad first impression. But the worst was housekeeping knocking on our door at 8:00 AM wanting to clean the room. On a weekend! We were still sleeping. This happened 2 of the 3 mornings we were there.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
