We signed up for the 3 hour tour. The owner Joe was actually our host and driver. We all boarded a 2 !/2 truck and off we went with Joe stopping numerous times to explain the history
of Borrego Springs and details about various desert plants. Joe discussed how the local indians once used the plants as food, medicine, garments, and housing. You have to be prepared to be
bounced around a little in back of truck, but we found it to be no problem.
It was a terrific experience and Joe was the best.

“Very Enjoyable Jeep Excursion”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

In late March 2013, my wife and I took a 2-hour private jeep tour into the Anza-Borrego desert reserve with our driver and guide, Johnny, of California Overland Jeep Tours. The trip included the badlands and Font's Point, and several stops along the way. John knows the terrain, the flora and fauna, the geology and the history of the area like the back of his hand, and was a font of information as we made our way out and back. Despite the drought-induced lackluster wildflower season this year, we still managed to spot and photograph a few wildflowers. The trip was exciting, fun and informative. Joe, the owner of the company was gracious, friendly and helpful before and after our adventure. The vehicles are clean and well-maintained. They carry plenty of ice-cold water, snacks (even on our short trip), cell and satellite telephones. So, it's obvious that this company takes the safety of their clients seriously in this unforgiving desert setting. A top-notch operation. Will definitely be back for a longer trip into this ruggedly beautiful area of my native state of California.

“Great Adventure”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Anza Borrego desert. We went on a 5 hour private trip with Joe. The arrangements were perfect and everything went off as planned. Joe was a great host - very knowledgeable and accommodating. We learnt a great deal about the desert - history , geology and flora and fauna. We experienced the slot canyon, dry lake bed, badlands and many other features of the desert. We'd recommend this tour very highly. Our teenage daughter loved the tour!

“Awesome Adventure to the Badlands!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We enjoyed a bumpy, chilly ride through the desert to see sites too hard to see by car--with leader & driver Rich. He showed us the most amazing views, gave us lots of interesting local history, and even showed us how to make the creosote bush create its "repellent" odor! I highly recommend CA Overland!

“WOW! What an experience.”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

I just got back from a desert tour, riding in an authentic, off-road, ten wheel drive vehicle that took my breath away! We road through areas of this enormous, natural park that were for authorized people only, so we got to see many things that normal tourists wouldn't get to see, othewise. The panarama is incredible, the hospitality amazing and the overall experience...WOW!
I traveled with my thirteen year old son, who was psyched to be there, as I knew he would be, but more importantly...there were three young girls along for the tour with their folks. I think two were 9 and the younger one was 7. I couldn't believe how thrilled they were with everything; which just proved to me that...This adventure is for EVERYONE!
