I have a mixed review for this hotel. My husband and I stayed for a romatic getaway for two nights. We got an excellent rate on the room since it was midweek and we booked through travelzoo. Had we paid full price, I would have been disappointed. For what we spent it was very nice.

First the good parts: Excellent service by the personnel at both the hotel and the restaurant. Wonderful breakfast with ocean view. Gorgeous grounds and easy access to parking, beach, swimming pool, etc. Great location.

Now the not so good parts: The toilet rocked back and forth when you sat on it and the toilet paper would make me think of Alcatraz issue paper - think thin and scratchy. No bubble bath for the giant jacuzzi tub. No new soap or shampoo on day two. Very uncomfortable furniture and no desk or table in a large suite.

Everything was just missing those final extra details that make it go from average to outstanding. The room felt sort of basic and stark.

I would rent the basic room next time and spend all of our time outside at the pool or on the grounds.

This was an excellent trip for us, we dont live far away so it makes a great one night getaway when life gets hectic, to just come and relax and enjoy the great view and friendly staff. I was very impressed with the pool and spa area where I spent the whole day lounging in the sun and taking in the view. The massage was excellent and the restaurant was amazing! A perfect day!

I booked this hotel for my husband's 60th birthday. I told them it was his birthday, but they didn't acknowledge it. The room was nice, but the fireplace was back in the corner with one chair in front of it. The sofa was on the other side of the room. There was one log for the fireplace, so we had to decide which part of the day we wanted a fire. The bathroom was nice, but there was no bathtub and the shower head was bad.

The "spa" was by far the biggest disappointment. We booked a spa package, so we both had a massage. The "spa" is two massage rooms next to the pool. They told us to arrive 10 minutes early, but they weren't ready for us. You take your clothes off in the massage room so there is no robe to change into. The only question asked by the massage therapist was which scent I wanted - out of three choices. About 10 minutes after my massage started, a couple went into the hot tub - right outside the room. They had a great time laughing, talking, drinking and occasionally some screaming. I couldn't blame them - they were just having fun - but it ruined the massage. The massage therapist said this was a regular occurance. When I told the front desk person, all she said was "that's too bad".

The biggest plus is the grounds - they are beautiful and well kept.

Overall, I thought it was overpriced and not the special experience I hoped to give my husband.

We loved this vacation! We spent 4 nights in Bodega Bay Lodge and loved them all! The room was very spacious(double queen/upper) and the views beautiful! We were traveling with two older children and an infant and had plenty of room. The spa treatments and the restaurant were all excellent! The boys loved exploring the beaches to the North. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable, we will be back! I recommend this spot for anybody looking to slow the pace down and relax! Bodega Bay was a lovely little town with great proximity to wineries, beaches and the redwoods and the clam chowder at Spud Point in the marina was Amazing!

Just returned from a 4 night stay and found the Bodega Bay Lodge to be a great place to stay. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel. The fireplace in the room as well as the updated bath was also very nice. The views were beautiful and the grounds lovely as well. I would highly recommend the resort for a stay when visiting the Northern California Coast. Although we did not eat at the resort we found the following places down the road to be quite good: Claudio's, Sandpiper, and Lucas Wharf - great chowder!

This was the best gettaway that we have had in a long time. Everything was perfect. We stayed in room 610 and the view was great, overlooking the bird sanctuary with an unobstructed panorama right to the beach. We made some new friends at the wine and cheese hour our first day of arrival. We dined at the Duck Club. We had the dual chicken and it was scrumptious. First class! The bed (queen) was most comfortable and the room was fresh and very clean. Thank you! The spa, and the sauna were a most appreciated surprise. Next time we visit we will use the heated pool. We had a late evening "picnic" in front of the fireplace and woke up to the relaxing sounds of the sea. Had we known what a teat this was going to be we would have booked more than a two night stay. Bodega Bay this time of year is gorgeous. There were a few light drizzles but the sun was out both days. Our drive north to Jenner was beautiful and there are so many llittle places to explore along the coast. We are very much looking forward to returning for more adventure, romance, and rest. This place is good for our soul!

We had booked their largest size room with 2 double beds, for an overnight stay. Since we were traveling with our 2 sons, I was a little concerned that the room would be cramped. When we arrived late on thursday afternoon (after horseback riding on the beach - definitely do the ride with the local ranch!) the front desk (Mark?) clerk was really helpful. He took us upstairs to the captains room and suggested that we would be more comfortable there - Wow - we sure were! There were 2 double beds, a pull out couch, fireplace and Huge deck - all with a spectacular view of the marsh lands and harbor. We settled in nicely, and in fact after a half hour, everyone was asking "Can we stay another night?!" Which fortunately they were able to let us do.

We had dinner twice at the restaurant - excellent both times, we all enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna, a long walk on the beautiful beach before breakfast - all in all it was a great trip to Bodega Bay, and the staff and the accomodations at the Bodega Bay Lodge were a big part of it.
