“Lovely getaway”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. We were in a Pacific Coast Lower Room with a King Bed and were very pleased with it.

Our view of the bay was half-decent. We didn't feel as though we were "missing out" by not paying extra for a room with a better view. Bed was very comfortable and the room was well-appointed...except that it didn't have a mini-fridge which I found a bit odd, considering it does include a small wet bar.

We made use of the hot tub in the evening, as well as the wine and cheese reception (where an attendant was cheerfully pouring very meager glasses of wine - oh well :)), and also enjoyed dinner in the lounge. Food was very good (not excellent, just very good...some of the flavor combinations didn't make sense to me) but the service in the restaurant was excellent. All in all a wonderful weekend getaway.

I have been here twice with my husband and LOVE it! It is very romantic and a great location. We love walking down to the beach for a stroll or down to Gourmet Au Bay (the wine tasting shop over the water).

I had an excellent massage here by a male masseuse. And dinner was great at the hotel restaurant.

Next time we visit from San Francisco, I want to stop at Cowgirl Creamery on the way and make an adventure out of it.

They are a great choice for a luxury, dog-friendly hotel.

the bodega bay lodge is a romantic getaway in the bay area that still stays close to everything. driving there you go through green Meadows with cows and farms, almost like a trip to Switzerland... the lodge is located right on the water front (although the water aren't really apply for going in) and the main road from the other direction so finding it was easy when the GPS lost reception. the lodge looks like the sky lodge at Tahoe- all wood and nature. when we entered the lobby there were wine and crackers with cheese for the guests afternoon gathering and it was so nice sitting next to the fire place drinking good wine (although we were the youngest at 32 age.. the average age was over 50 i think but it made us feel even more luxurious). the room was great! had a fire place and a nice balcony right on the water front and even a binocular waited for us in the room so we can do some bird watching. at night we went to eat at the hotel's lounge because there are not many dining options on bodega bay that doesn't make you ride back on dark night to pataloma, which is the closest big city. the lounge had great food in a nice cozy wooden place. i had the gnocchi which were awsome! so many tastes of different kind squashes... the one thing that was a bit bothering was the fog horn that sounds like an ever repeating dial tone and we didn't understand at the beginning what it was. when you close the balcony door you won't hear it but if you want to enjoy the breeze take it in consideration.

Room Tip: ask for the ater front rooms, at the line with the restaurant and lounge, they have amazing view

We make it a point to visit at least once a year, It is a retreat from the daily business of life, A beautiful place to rest, relax and renew your state of mind. the restaurant is very good, and the grounds are lovely, very nice comfortable rooms with fireplaces and great views of the bay,

Room Tip: the upstairs rooms overlooking the bay, not the parking lot are the best

We drove from Napa to Bodega Bay and up Highway 1. The scenic drive was wonderful. When we arrived at our room I couldn't believe how big it was. And the view was unbelievable! We were only here for one night. Next time i'm in California, I will definitely stay here and for more than one night.

My husband and I just two nights at the Bay for our 25th Anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Upon checking in we were informed we had been upgraded to a different room and should also expect a surprise that would be delivered. Shortly after getting to our room, which had an amazing view, there was a knock on the door and a delivery of champagne with a Happy Anniversary card. So sweet and thoughtful. The rest of the stay was just as magical and the room was PERFECT. Looking forward to a return stay. Thanks Bodega Bay Lodge!

Lovely place on the Northern Coast of California on Bodega bay. This hotel is perched on a hill overlooking the beautiful grounds and Bodega bay. The rooms have all the amenities you could possibly need complete with umbrella. The beds were very comfortable and the balconies perfect for enjoying the scenery. The restaurant on the property is quite nice. Our favorite thing to do was enjoy the fire pit and have their cheese platter with our favorite wine. It is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. There are plenty of walks near by . There is a bird watchers walk and a walk to the bay. Just beyond the bay you do see the ocean. Bodega Head is a short drive where you walk along the bluffs for spectacular views of the ocean waves crashing against the majestic rocky coast. Great spot for photos. We will definitely return.
