Bodega Bay is a wonderful getaway location for a short vacation. And the Bodega Bay Lodge is a great place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we loved the property - the front desk was friendly and helpful, the grounds beautiful and our room was perfect - clean, tastefully decorated, a comfortable balcony and a fantastic view of Bodega Bay.

We took advantage of a coupon the desk gave us and had a nice flight of wine on the deck at Gourmet au Bay a mile or two down the road then returned to the hotel for the evening. The Duck Club is gorgeous but we elected to have a light dinner in the adjoining lounge. The full Duck Club menu was available as well as a lighter bar menu. We opted for a bowl of clam chowder (some of the best I've ever tasted), a salad and we split an order of fresh halibut. Service was outstanding, the view at sunset was gorgeous, the presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious.

A great well-run property - we will definitely return!

We stayed just one night in May, with a special deal. The room was on the ground floor with a great viewm of the hearbout (not an upfront view of ocean and waves in this hotel. The room was very nice, spacous, balcony, gas fireplace. Only problem-bed was too soft and moved when one of us did. The staff was very friendly, and ere is a great wine and cheese hour in. Front of the fireplace in reception. Beautiful grounds, with outdoor jacuzzi with views, and swimming pool. Will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. Nice bathroom with separate heater. Nice views from room and all over the property. The hotel does a wine tasting in the early evening before dinner which is quite nice...with cheese and crackers as well.

Staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the area.

The hotel is located on the road down to a beach which is a nice walk.

The restaurant was good.. If you get a good seat there is a great view The dinner wait staff were very attentive and professional. I enjoyed the beet salad.....had it 2 nights.

We did a "walk-in" after dropping into other hotels in the area looking for a nice get-away place... no plans, just an adventure. We defiantly found the best place in the area - maybe the most expensive too, but worth it.

We were in room 105... clearly one of the older rooms. It was clean, well appointed (even an iPhone dock to listen to our music on), a fireplace (fake log - nice) and a slightly larger tub (though I wouldn't call it a couple's soaking tub) The carpets in this room were a little aged, but overall, it was great.

My only complaint on the room was the heater... it was noisy and woke me during the night when it came on.

The bed and pillows were excellent.

The view - even from this "cheap room" - was great. I enjoyed sitting watching the bay come to life in the morning. There are nice gardens around and even had a bunny rabbit take notice of me.

My only reason for the 4 rating and not the 5 is the heater. I didn't have a restful night. I should have turned the heater off and pulled the comforter up!

Room Tip: All the rooms had a view of the bay... not sure I would pay for the better views. We stayed in the...

My cousin and I took a nostalgia trip up the CA coast and ended up at the Lodge in Bodega Bay. What a treasure. Lovely large rooms with fireplaces, view to ocean, quiet....just beautiful. And lots to do in the surrounding area. It's an easy walk down to the beach, and just a short drive to the Wildflower Bakery in Freestone (only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Also a short drive to the bakery in the Union Hotel (Occidental) and Howard's (cash only) for a great breakfast.

The lodge offers a free wine and cheese hour every evening, which is really nice. You can also play Scrabble on a king-size board in the library or check out other games from the front desk.

Wish we could have stayed longer than three nights!

Room Tip: I don't think you can get a bad room. All face west for an ocean view. The beds were really co...

My husband, newborn son, and I had a lovely stay at Bodega Bay Lodge. Only problem was that it was too short! We had a delicious dinner from room service (really, very good food, very impressive for room service!) and also a nice brunch at the restaurant. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had a beautiful view. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
