My wife and I ate there last night. We haven't been there in 4 years and went back there based on the good food ansd service. We went at 4pm and the place was empty, whcih we bouth thought was odd based on the good food and service in the past. We ordered a crab ravioli which was good, but $9. My wife ordered the Tempura Prawns for $15 and got six prawns which were all under cooked, and a side of fries. I got the Golden Platter at $19. It consisted of one deep fried cod about 5" long, two undercooked prawns, over cooked/ rubbery calamari, and fries. Our sodas were also not mixed right and had very little flavor. Our total was $51.96. I left a subpar tip but the server was nice and checked on us regularly. We left about half the food on the plate. We've had dinners that were way better and cost about half the price in Morro Bay and Avila Beach.

We left completely unsatisfied and found some locals to talk to for next time as we crab here regularly. Apparently The Sandpipers owners have changed hands quite a bit and per the locals the chefs are drunks and thieves. The staff also open and closes whenever they want, so theirs no regular hours.

I looked up reviews after leaving here and read a review on Google which said they overcharged the lady $5 when she looked at her credit card statement several days later. Sad to say, we probably won't be back anytime in the near furture. Locals recommended the Boat House across the street.

We wanted a nice lunch, change from usual places, Tides, Spud Point and oh what a mistake. I had heard it was good but that was when it was a hole int he wall place obviously owned by someone else. We had a large bowl of very gooey flour thick bowl of clam chowder $13.95, which should have been about $6.50 a special of fried squid, fish and shrimp $19.00 maybe worth $9.00 and a portabella steak plate about $14.00. None of which was very good. The view is great but the service was horrid, we had to get up from the table to track down our server a couple of times to get more ice tea and ketchup. Also I think they charge for each fill up of Coke...The bill for three $59.00!
It was chilly so we did not want to eat outside but the place across the street with picnic tables looked great Next time we will go there or Spud Point

# Waiting time to be seated too long, the restaurant was not even half full.
# 2 tables near us were not cleaned while we were there
# ordered mussels, got cold ones
# ordered calamari salad, waited too long for it, and the calamari were although cold
# others customers didn't look happy to eat there

My husband had a bad feeling all the time we were there... should have heard it!

The night and the day after were not good. Stomac cramps all the time, feeling bad all the time.

Will not recommand it at all

Inconsistant quality of food and service. We have returned several times but sometimes the food was great and others just so so. We will not return.
