“Bad Fish & Chips”
Reviewed January 3, 2012

I don't like to write a bad review; however, the fish and chips were so bad I felt compelled to alarm others. I've had bad fish and chips before but never at the coast. My advise for this restaurant is DON'T BOTHER, even if it is the only restaurant open.

“Lovely breakfast!”
Reviewed December 28, 2011

We enjoyed an excellent breakfast at the Sandpiper. I had the Veggie Benedict and my husband had the full stack of pancakes. They were both delicious, as was the coffee. One of the best breakfasts we've had! Our only gripe was that our young son's apple juice cost $3 which seemed a bit expensive...

“New location”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

They were forced to move, after many years in the same location, near the bay. Frankly, I like the new location, on the bend of the road, coning into Bodega Bay, the building andinside it has more atmosphere than their old place. It was really a good move for them... You look donw on the ocean, acorss the street. Their clam chowder is still fantastic and the fish is fresh as can be, cooked the way you like it. I'll use any excuse to come here to have a great fish lunch or even a romantic dinner. Our waiter was attentive to our needs.

“Go here for breakfast”

Try the crab and shrimp eggs Benedict and their coffee, a lovely place with genuine local food and a great view of the ocean, recommended.

“Not worth going for a free birthday dinner.”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

This was our third visit to the Sandpiper over a few years. The food on the first two visits at their other locations was OK. Our recent visit was dissappointing. The dinner rolls looked good but were chewy and uneatable. The calamari steak dore was slightly overcooked. The light egg batter did not adhere to the calamari and would fall off onto the plate when cutting into it. The sauce was fine but had to many capers. The sweet red cabbabe sauerkraut was missplaced on this dish and the rice pilaf was one of those precooked package types. The fresh sauteed carrots were the only thing that belonged on this entree. I am finding that most of the restaurants located in touristy areas fall short on good menus and good food. Prices are a little lower at the Sandpiper; however, you don't get soup or salad with the entrees. My advice would be to bring a picnic, enjoy the beauty of the area and have lunch or dinner at a great restaurant on your way home!
