Description: Great food, friendly service and spectacular views await you at Lucas Wharf Restaurant in Bodega Bay. We are a waterfront seafood restaurant on the beautiful Sonoma Coast, about 1-1/2 hours north of San Francisco and just minutes away from the wine country. We have a cozy lounge with a fireplace and a patio for outside dining. From your dinner table you might see the local fishermen unloading their catch on our dock while sea lions play in the water below and pelicans sail by overhead. We offer a large selection of seafood choices, plus steaks, pastas and vegetarian options. We have several unique signature dishes (calamari!) And delicious, seasonal dinner specials. We have a full bar and proudly feature premium Sonoma County wines and local draft beers. So, for either a romantic sunset dinner, a quick bite on your way through town or after a lazy day at the beach with the kids, visit Lucas Wharf Restaurant, family owned and operated since 1984.

Nothing spectacular here but a decent meal with a great view. The shrimp Louis was good, the sourdough bread was good. The blackened snapper was good. The clam chowder perhaps is canned? If not it kind of tastes that was. The server was very friendly and food arrived quickly.

The menu was a bit "super-clubby", pretty much tried and true items, not much new and exciting. Veggies were way over cooked. Views were nice and the service was good.

Even in the middle of winter, I felt this restaurant was just another one of those seaside tourist places that really has no culinary dignity. We ordered the Avocodo and Shrimp appetizer and when we got it it took our appetites away. I knew we would not be able to get fresh shrimp in N. California, but from the looks and taste of it we thought it could have been "canned" shrimp, EWWW...and this was a dish that came recommended by the waitress, I even think it was a "special' that night. The salad was (blue cheese and spinach) boring. We shared the prawns and they were actually good. I did have a great Martini and we also had some nice wine. Our waitress was fabulous.

Even though the place was almost completely they sat us at a table (and also a foursome that came after us) with a view of the gas tanks and pipes and equip of the docks. I should have asked for another table, but we were hungry and in a bit of a hurry.

Would not recommend nor would I go back

YES, this is a wharf restaurant, good seafood, and a good dinner for casual dining. This is a good place to take your family. The steamed clams are the best.
