Our tradition for the past 12 years is to come here on birthdays and our anniversary. Request a window table when planning on a sunset dinning hour. The food is San Francisco quality. It is pricey but the staff and food live up to an elegant dining standard every time. The Torretta D’Avocado e Granchio) which is a dungeness crab & avocado tower with tomato gazpacho, misted with a citrus herb oil, on baby lettuce (we just call it the crab tower appetizer) is out of this world. It is substantial but don't be tempted to share, it is too good, order one for each of you. My wife has also requested the Caprese salad as her antipasti and says that it is delightful. The filet steaks are gourmet steakhouse class with several choices of preparation styles and sauces. My first choice is the Filet Mignon Hitchcock, which is an incredibly tender medium-sized filet, stuffed with Dungeness crab, nestled on garlic-mashed potatoes, with a light demi-glace and béarnaise sauce. It is staggeringly rich but worth the calories for one evening. The fresh fish is superb -- the Salmone alla Griglia is a thick filet of fresh salmon and is tender, flavorful, and cooked to your exact specifications. We have been tempted to try other dishes but, since we go only on special occasions, we seem to order the same things each time. They are a treat. The desserts are culinary creations with wonderfully colorful presentations. For a special night out, this is the place in Bodega Bay.
