The fish soup was tasty, but the crab cakes were disappointing - looked like they were frozen from the grocery store. The owner put a lot of effort into the service, but he really could use more help.

The food was pretty average. Had a enchilada with crab and shrimp which was ok.

I had read reviews about what to order. I had the shrimp enchiladas. It was pretty plain. No chips and salsa, they bring bread and buttter, which is fine. I had to ask for salsa though, to give m food some flavor. Whole beans were good, rice very plain. Not cheap. A good sauv blanc.

The family run service, alone, makes this a great experience. They only have beer and wine, but they provide chilled beer mugs an a fine selection of beer/wine. The Mexiccan flat steaks and fish are always good. We go about twice a month.

We arrived at Bodega Bay without specific dinner plans and ended up choosing Brisas Del Mar based mostly on appearance and the idea of Mexican Seafood which sounded more and more appealing.

We started with coconut fried shrimp and for entrees had shrimp enchiladas and red snapper in butter and capers sauce. For dessert we had apple pie and cheesecake. Everything was very good and in line with the cost, especially at a location which tends to inflate prices due to high real estate prices, excellent views and a high ratio of tourist business. Before tip and including non-alcoholic beverages, our bill came to just over $50 for the two of us.

The only minor criticism on the food I can levy at the food was that the coconut shrimp was cooked till dark brown vs. a golden brown. It still tasted very good.

The decor was solidly mid-level with plastic covered linen on the tables and signs of previous water damage at one corner of the ceiling. The view wasn't the spectacular ocean view one might find elsewhere, but we knew that going in. That isn't to say the view was bad. There was outdoor seating which was out of commission for the winter for obvious reasons.

The staff was friendly and I never noted a misstep by them and like good wait staff, didn't go out of their way to call attention to themselves.
