We live in Santa Rosa and take friends and visitors out to see Bodega Point, which is spectacular California coast (and about 1/2 the time we see whales, in season or not); but the real reason we go is the excuse to stop at the Spud Point cafe, which is on the way to the Point. Their clam chowder and their crab sandwiches are delicious. It's a very small cafe with all the seating outdoors at picnic benches. You can also buy whole crabs, which I hear are very good, but I always go for the sandwiches and chowder. I notice all the other reviews give this place 5 stars/Excellent. There is a darn good reason for that. It is a treat.
