We have 2 kids under 10 so a pool is almost a must for us to have a relaxing weekend. This one is T shaped, and we were practically the only ones in it Friday-Sunday June 16-19, 2005. The jacuzzi is giant size too.
We had a hard time sleeping the first night with the fog horn somewhere around Doran Beach and lumpy pillows. Unfortunately, we never had time between eating (recommend the hotel's restaurant: especially if you want to venture out and try abalone), swimming, and going to the beach to ask if they had any good ones. The fridge is convenient so that you don't have to stop at the top of the hill to fill the icechest before going out for the day, being a bit rusted inside was an eyesore.
Room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us, wetsuits, boogieboards, sandtoys, goggles and innertubes.
Both the tourist office and front desk can advise on low tide if you want to enjoy some of the beaches.
I would stay there again if we ever want to go back to that part of the coast.
