The motel claims to not only have wi-fi but high speed wi fi. We found no-speed wi fi during the three days we stayed there. When I asked about this at reception, she replied that 'they offer wi-fi" but there is no guarantee of getting it! They explained that the fog was the problem (yikes!!).

Room at the top of the hill was fine but the bathroom was damaged. The free breakfast was ok and the scenics were very good.

Great location overlooking the bay, big room with all you need, liked the complimentary bottle of wine, nice touch. Great bed and a very good breakfast in the restaurant across the road. Terriffic view from our room (fog permitting!).

Room Tip: Our room was up back so there was little or no road noise, couldn't avoid the fog horn!

On the day of our arrival, we got in fairly late in the evening. However, the front desk staff was welcoming and efficient with our check-in. The Inn is situated in a terrific location with very friendly wildlife as we were accompanied by a resident deer as we made our way to our room. We reserved an upgraded room with a fireplace and a fantastic view of the bay. The room itself was quite big, clean, and well-furnished with a super comfy bed. Although the bathroom was fairly large, it really needed some updating (as the room probably did as well here and there). The complimentary bottle of wine and firewood were nice amenities. However, we couldn't ever get the wireless to work. We also enjoyed the breakfast that was included - a real breakfast with a number of different choices - at the Tides restaurant across the street. Very fun to look through all "The Birds" memorabilia. The only thing wrong with the Inn at the Tides is that it's about that time for some updates that would give it the finishing touch to being a truly exceptional place to stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a room with a fireplace. Firewood is included and very accessible. It'll definitely t...

This was a great experience for us. we were looking for a romantic getaway without kids and we hit the nail on the head. From the moment we walked in the restaurant and bar on August 18, we saw a friendly faced young man. We immediately knew we would like this place. Food and drinks were great, service was timely and the atmosphere was something out of a storybook. Thanks! We will certainly recommend this place to our family and friends and will be back in October!

Room Tip: High up for a great view!

The staff at both the hotel/restaurant and restaurant across the street were very unfriendly and rude. I have been treated better by DMV employees. We paid top dollar for all amenities and seems the staff could not have cared less. Staff, keep in mind, when visitors come, it is a special time and a special trip for them, to act haughty and rude ruins the specialness of the moment...

We stayed in a Deluxe King Vaulted Fireplace room #1402. This is on the 2nd floor of the building highest up on the property and I believe offers the best views. The room was quite spacious and clean. The wallpaper looked new and the bed was comfortable. But the bathroom was in serious need of updating, with some of the silver missing from the mirror and quite outdated plumbing fixtures. The wood burning fireplace was nice, although I would recommend that guests bring with them a full sized Duraflame to get the fire started as the wood seemed too green to start with just the kindling they provide. The windows need some attention. Two of the windows were very clean but two others had broken latches on them and were very dirty from the salt air.

One other annoyance was the lack of wireless or wired internet in the rooms. As they didn't advertise that they offer this service, I guess I can't complain too much. They said some people are able to connect to the internet in the lobby.

The rates include a nice hot breakfast from a menu of about 12 items. This is offered at the Tides Restaurant which is across the street from the entrance to the hotel. We also had dinner at the restaurant at the Inn and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Window tables (of which there are about 4) offer terrific views of Bodega Bay.

Before I booked this hotel I did consider the Bodega Bay Lodge. However, its rates are about double those of the Inn at the Tides. The Bodega Bay Lodge is much lower down and I am guessing it has less of an expansive view. The rooms appear definitely more elegant.

Room Tip: The deluxe king vaulted fireplace rooms inn the buildings highest up on the hill offer the best view...
