“Now a Clarion Inn”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

We booked two rooms under "California Inn" and to our surprise we arrived at a Clarion Inn. We booked two ground floor king study rooms and one room was on the second floor. The hotel does not have an elevator. All rooms open to outside corridors/parking lot. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. The lights were bright and enabled easy reading. The included breakfast was an expanded continental breakfast which is common at many better hotels. We only had two complaints: (1) the showerhead needed to be replaced as it couldn't be adjusted and didn't put out a consistent stream of water. (2) The air freshner used in the room had an awful perfumy scent. It took us a long time to air out the room. When will hotel learn not to spray artifical smelling scents in rooms? Many people are sensitve to strong scents,

Room Tip: Another thing to keep in mind is the hotel does not allow you to check in early, we sat in the lobby...

2 1/2 stars more accurate but I'll be generous and give 3. Old place newly renovated/painted/etc. Quiet and convenient location. Liked micro and fridge. Didn't like black hair strands in sink upon arrival, rust around some bath fixtures and towel bar that wasn't screwed into wall and fell off along with first towel. Bed not great and sheets did not fit, bunched up during night. No elevator, must tote stuff up stairs to second floor. OK for a quick overnight.

I am always cautious of the rooms because of so much watched and investigated on hotel. This one in particular needs to be cleaned alittle bit more, disinfected, softner on beds and sprayed or room deodorized due to "SMOKE~Smell " in our (Non Smoking Room) had to request to be moved. If they say Breakfast and dont' have "Waffle Mix" by all means send someone down to Vons!!! Hello? I will be visitng in a few weeks but have made reservations for the Comfort Suites. If I enjoy it there....definately making it my future stay...Thanks

It was just an overnight stay, but I would have been better off sleeping in the car. The floors were stained, the white bed spread was stained and the shower head was covered in mold. My group reserved 3 rooms, each had the same issues. We felt as if we needed to be debugged. I think Its obvious why Hampton pulled out. If your looking for a place in Blythe The Comfort Suites, looks very nice and clean...

This place is great. It's clean it's comfortable right by restruants and Starbucks. They also offer a continental breakfast as early as 4 o'clock for those early risers like myself.

Let me start by saying I wouldn't be opposed to staying here again...especially considering it is in Blythe...but some things were great, others okay, and others not so great.
Great: Had a King Study room. It was very nice and big. Had a nice sitting area with sofa, desk, nice bed, and fridge. Bathroom had high shower with nice water pressure.
Okay: Limited breakfast (waffles, toast, 1 type muffin, cereal, hard boiled eggs, sometimes yogurt, "hot" water for tea that was freezing)... but its free so can't expect much. Microwave in the room but very old and dial was broke. Nice furniture but lots of chips and breaks in it. Staff was friendly enough.
Not so good: When first came into room it was very dusty (I know it is Blythe so some is expected but it was all over meaning none of the furniture is wiped down), 2 dead bugs on desk, couple live small bugs on roof, & long hairs all over bathroom. Second night pulled back made-up bed and a spider ran across the sheets.
Overall could have been bit cleaner but still nice enough.

Room Tip: Could hear word for word conversations of every single person who walked by the room...so if not lea...

I am helping some young people cycle across the USA. The route goes right through Blythe. I've stayed here before when I did the route and it was good then. It appears that most of the hotels here have dropped their national affiliations. I found the rooms OK and the service excellent. My young friends have been camping along the route, but wanted to sleep inside due to a long day. Not only did Hymie (sp?) Make arrangements, he found storage for their bikes.
