“Worth the trip to Inglewood, when in Perth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

A visit to Perth and we were invited to dinner with some local friends at Il Pasto, which is in Inglewood, Perth. The charm of the restaurant is the first thing to impress, then the menu and the food - amazing.

Four at our table, four very happy people - we loved the food. Great food, great atmosphere and worth the 10-15 minutes drive from the CBD. According to our host, you need to book in advance, being a local gem, they are often booked out. You can sit outside, small number of tables, but then you would miss the atmosphere to be enjoyed.

“Don't miss the anchovies!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

We'd lost track of this restaurant since it disappeared from view in East Perth, so we were pleased when friends said it had re-emerged in Inglewood. To start, we shared the Antipasto Platter, which the menu says is good for 2 but actually did well for four of us, especially by adding an order of the superb White Anchovy Fillets. These are two dishes not to miss. The platter offers a sampling of most of the other starters, including olives, crumbed artichokes, cheeses, and sour dough bread. The marinated anchovy fillets are a taste delight, and served with toasted sour dough bread. The mains were really good, though not extraordinary, but very rich and way, way oversized! Among the party, we had the Cotoletta with Fettucine (2 styles), the Eggplant Lasagna, and the Bistecca. Apart from the lasagna, the meals would have been good for two. We only tried a couple of desserts, with the Torta Caprese being a hit - a flourless chocolate almond cake, served warm with caramel sauce and double cream, it was not too sweet and tasted great. Service was really attentive and the ambience is good. Prices are reasonable but it feels wasteful to leave so much food when the serves are so big.
