“Awesome bar with a relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

Loved loved loved this place! What awesome Sunday session! Girls catch up, firstly started with cocktails then switched to wine, along side a meat and cheese board.

It took ages for our cheese and meat board to come out, which I think they forgot about.

The hosts where impeccable! Really loved the vibe and the look of five bar!

Must say I had a laugh at the music playing in the bathrooms lol teenage mutan Ninja turtles and the pink panther where the most memorable lol can't wait to go back.

“Cosy with good food and chill out factor”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Popped in here for a drink and lunch, and enjoyed very much the cosy relaxed interiors, reminded me of a lot of this "just like grandma's place" bars and gastro-pubs of London in its interiors, the only difference to London being that they have huge windows onto the street that are all opened and one gets beautiful breeze and outdoors/alfresco feeling whilst sitting inside, even on a hot day. It is a little on a pricey side, and service somewhat patchy, in particular given the place was not busy at all at around 2.30pm we popped in, it took a very very long time in between our first selection of one cheese and the barrumundi main, which we also shared. Glass of Yarra pinot rose, small serve, AUD10, my friend had ginger ale and we shared one cheese and barrumundi fingers, total bill just over AUD50. Cheese came on small board of slate served with 2 pieces of bred, some crackers, macerated fruit 1 each, and 1 each of dried fig, small but lovely, all of it. As to Burrumundi Fingers as they called, it the crispy pieces coated in lovely seeds and spices revealed super soft white fish inside, and the dipping aioli of some sort thick and nice, chips handcut and large, but felt a little dry to me, like they have been cooked and they reheated in the oil. May be it is type of potatoe but there was something not quite right about them. It's a nice place, shame they do not have champagne and their mixes are just a little on a cheap and nasty side, but if you stick to beer, wine and the like you should be fine.

“I just love this place !”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This place is terrific, the bar staff always seem to remember you even if you have not been for a few weeks. They are attentive without being overbearing, the food is glorious and ever so fresh.
The place has a great feel to it, there are little areas which all seem to be different but within the same confine.
Just love it !

“Many better options on Beaufort Street, I do not recommend Five Bar”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Positive aspects:
1) Good location on the Beaufort Street strip
2) Good decor and seating
3) Great selection of beers, wine, cider at reasonable (for Perth) prices

Negative aspects:
1) Very limited menu
2) Food expensive for the size and quality of the serve. I paid $16.50 for a sandwich, for the price I was expecting it to come with at least one side such as a salad but all it came with was a lonely looking gherkin. The sandwich itself was mediocre at best.
3) Food order for our table did not arrive together, it took approx 10mins from the first dish arriving to us both having the food we ordered. We only ordered three items and the place was not even close to busy
4) Interesting service - at first it was quite good but the waiter was trying to be funny and it wasn't working. The waiter serving the table next to ours seemed very arrogant
5) Lime and soda cost $4

“A great place to meet”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Catch up with your friends and have a drink and enjoy the great food. It is sometimes hard to find a space but be patient, the crowd moves along and you can go from the bar to some comfortable chairs in no time.
