We have just completed a 2800 mile road trip around Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California. Unfortuantely while we were away, my 'smart' phone bought two years ago wasn't that smart and it was quite difficult for me to use WiFi while we were away. After paying some hefty rates for hotels/motels by just turning up, I thought for the remainder of our stay, it might be prudent to use one of the comparison web sites (Trivago, Booking.com, Hotels.com) to get a reduced rate. In the end it was such a challenge to use my phone to book the motels/hotels, that I went with the flow of thinking that I had got a good deal. DON'T think that you will automatically get a good deal from these sites. There are many 'tourist' magazines which will give you discounted rate coupons and you should get a much better rate.

Thank goodness we only stayed one night at Super 8 at a rate of $75.60 ($67.50 + $8.10 tax per night). The reception was untidy and used to store all manner of junk - not welcoming at all.

The room was ok. Small skimpy, rough towels which have probably come to the end of their useful life. The coffee maker didn't work, although the hairdryer was excellent.

I won't be returning to a SUper 8 - and I'll gladly pay a higher rate to get better accommodation and service.

When will I learn...Trying to stay loyal to a points program is not always a good idea. We travel to Bishop many times a year, and could not stay at our normal choice.

The curb appeal on this property is poor, unwelcoming and rundown. The check is was ok, had a discounted rate and they had preassigned us a room on second floor. It was early and parking lot was empty. Asked for room on 1st floor, told not possible. Pressured the poor clerk and he changed it. Found out managers put discounted and points rooms on second floor.

Room "looked ok", however. when bed was pulled back, sheets had hair..both types on the sheets, and make up on pillow case. Contacted desk and told them I wanted clean sheets put on bed. I also asked for manager, He would not come out of Managers Apartment, and spoke through the day that contects the 2. Keep in mind it was only 6 PM.
Young women came to change sheets, and kept insisting that the ones on bed where changed, even after pointing many hairs and make-up.

Repairs to room were terrible, hanging rack loose on wall, sink trap leaked water (heavy) on floor, chaulking moldy, toilet ran. Just in poor standard.

Continental Breakfast was poor, milk left in 1 gallon jug just setting on the counter. It sat there for over 3 hours. I had to make coffee (no one in office, just a bell to ring). Few muffins...I think you get the idea.

When I did find someone in office, he came out of Managers Apartment, I tried speaking with him about problems...his english was broken, very hard to commmunicate. At this point, it was time to laugh it off, and move on and deal with Super 8 directly. I have seen this type of property before. Investor from out of county buys a motel/hotel, places a relative who does know how to operate, maintain, or deal with guests in a lodging location in the US.

Fair warning to all, price is cheap in winter months, high is summer, way over priced in for you summer travelers. Take care if you stay here.

First night of our vacation. Had a decent stay but I think we paid to much for what we got.

We reserved this motel with our smart phone while on the road between Yosemite and points east. This motel really needs updating. There were disabled vehicles in the parking lot, litter scattered around, and the stairwells smelled like they had been used as restrooms at some point The room was almost clean, but we were concerned with the paper rolled up and stuffed in the holes in the walls in the bathroom. Not sure what was being kept out of the room with the makeshift repairs. We were exhausted and slept just fine, but we won't be stopping here again.
We responded to a review request from Super 8 after our stay and we were very honest. The result was an email apology from the motel which was appropriate and appreciated. However, this place was scary - and we aren't travel snobs.

We stopped here on our way from Yosemite to Las Vegas, and they advertised as being pet friendly. There was no place to walk our pet and we had to walk her 2 blocks down the street to find a suitable area. They are also very expensive for the quality of the room. We would not stop here again.

We got a good deal from a tourist brochure coupon, so with that in mind this was a great hotel for the price.

However.... the manager tried to charge another guest almost double what we paid and mentioned the rooms can go for $200. In my opinion, only stay here if you get a great deal. If not, Im sure there would be much better places for the money nearby.

Overall, we got a decent clean and comfortable motel room and good basic breakfast. A good WiFi connection was available in the room. The location is very convenient after/before a long drive through Yosemite and Death Valley. There are plenty of restaurants/steakhouses/bars nearby and a supermarket and gas station.

The service isnt that great here, so just dont expect too much or a smile...

It is what it is (a cheap motel for an overnight stay) so just dont go paying a ridiculous price for it!!

Room Tip: The hotel is on the main road, but we didnt have any street noise
