We read the reviews and did not mind the simplicity and basic of this place as we needed a clean comfortable bed to sleep before we head back to Mesquite Nevada. The exterior was an old outdated motel but the interior had been remodelled. Looked nice clean and cozy till we were in there to setttle in. The amenites were very basic no hairdryer no microwave but there is a fridge and coffee making facilities. The coffee maker was on top of the fridge and had to be taken down to floor level due to the low socket when we had to brew coffee.

Then more surprises surfaced when I walked into the bathroom. The maid did not clear a used towel at the back of the bathroom door and a bar of soap with its torn wrapper on the soap dish in the shower cubicle when she cleaned the room after the last guest check out. An obvious patchwork of paint left after some work done on the bathroom wall and the skirting surrounding the toilet bowl was stained from water leaks. Even the ceiling of the shower cubicle was stained with molds!

This motel would retain its beauty of remodelling if the owner had consistently maintained the rooms but sad that they would rather see it loose its charm due to sheer ignorance.

The welcome at El Rancho was friendly and the room was adequate for an overnight stay whilst driving from Las Vegas to San Francisco.

The town of Bishop is quaint with stunning surroundings and friendly locals.

Good value and location make this motel an okay place for an overnight stay on the way to San Francisco.

3 star???? NFWay. The internet didn't work for beans but the shower was amazing. I guess LA didn't steal all the water from the Owens valley. Lots of choices in town. Wtf do I need to type in as much as .........

This is a bit of the main drag - but in walking distance to all places you might want to visit in Bishop. The surroundings are not really confidence inspiring (trailer park) - but it is very quiet. Friendly, easy check in. Rooms are kind of old - but clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well. Could use more charging outlets. Parking in front of the room is always nice when traveling by motorcycle. Having the Bakery just across the street is a big plus.

Nice quiet older motel with a very friendly helpful staff and clean, updated rooms. The motor-court parking is adequate for normal sized vehicles but if you are driving a larger vehicle the assigned parking space may not be large enough so check with the staff first.

Room tip: If your driving a lager vehicle, check with the staff to ensure adequate parking space.
