this is definitely a tourist stop in Bishop....it does have a lot of items to purchase and you can get sandwiches made up there.
They usually are very crowded. Bakery items were a little pricey..but what we purchased was good. A place to visit when in Bishop Calif

A great bakery, but you have to time your visit just right or be prepared for a long wait. The place is busy and we went there in October on a Monday not the exactly the high tourist season.
Had a great apple turnover and peanut butter cookies. If you want sweets this is the place in Bishop.

Don't miss this if you are in the area. Great affordable breakfast, and all kinds of goodies to take with you for a road trip, vacation or going home.

OMG were my first words after passing thru the foreboding entrance NO CAMERA's ALLOWED welcome. I got why customers were coming out of the store with 2 sacks full of goodies, we left with 3!!! No problem finding the perfect bread to compliment Napa wine and cheese. The deli is old school-fast, fresh with local ingredients from the valley. The pastry shop is beyond sinful. A shame they don't let you photograph inside, it's hard to express how many fabulous twists of bread they have perfected.

Needed to find a place that would have my tour group's sandwiches ready for pickup by 8:30 the next day so we could head up to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Walked in at 8:30 when the sandwich counter opened and the sandwiches were ready and waiting. Don't think I can add anything to the quality of the homemade breads, very tasty. One thing I really liked is that their turkey sandwiches are sliced (or pulled) from a whole oven-roasted turkey. And being a thigh kind of guy, I haven't tasted anything better!!!
