Locals appreciate the pool. Maintenance can be shabby.

“old, peeling paint”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

it's affordable, but OLD. the paint around and at the bottom of the pool is peeling, flickering flourescent lights. it just feels rickety and in need of renovation. there are only 2 shower stalls, and the changing room feels musty.

but can't complain once you're in the water soaking your troubles away. just didn't feel like leaning back on anything with all the rust stains. ew.

“Quick Soak Time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2010

Keough, located in between Big Pine and Bishop, is the first hot springs I ever visited in California. Signed from the highway, take the Keough Hot Springs turn. The free soaking tubs (aka Keough Ditch) is the first right turn, near tall bushes and the creek crossing. A clothing optional, busy springs, this one is a quick and easy stop for your soaking needs. Further up the paved road is the official Keough Resort, which offers day use of a large pool (for a fee) and they now have tent cabins for rent too.
