Timberline Lodge

We stayed here this summer in one of the larger cabins for a week and had a great time. There were a lot of bugs by the pool but you didn't really notice them once you were in the water. Our unit had two bedrooms and a pullout couch which was more than enough for us and the price was right. There were also enough utensils in the kitchen to cook decent meals with. Our unit had a little patio which was nice to sit out on but make sure you have citronella because the bugs are insane! The bbq are was a standard size webber grill right outside our door. It was nice that the staff emptied the coals for us each day.

The manager was exceedingly nice and gave us free toothpaste, razors and snacks LOL! I would definitely go back again.

The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean and the kitchen had just about anything you might need. There is a play area for the kids as well as a horseshoe pit and volleyball court. Our dog was welcome and even got a treat when we checked in!

Room Tip: All the cabins are great some are just bigger than others.

We had an amazing 4 nite stay in cabin nr. 10. It was perfect for us. Right next to a large volleyball sandy area that has a horseshoe throwing area as well. Nr. 10 also has a large outside picnic/bbq area. The entire complex is thoroughly cleaned everyday including the BBQ and outside trashcan. We were delighted that the timberline lodge is centrally situated between Boulder Bay park & Big bear village. The hi-lite of our trip was taking the skychair skilift with mountain bikes ($31 for 2 adults & 1 9-year old child) up to Snow summit. The approx. 90 minute continuous downhill ride on the dirt fire trail was fun & adventurous. It ends right at the village (near jack-n-the-box). We'll definetely be going back to the Timberline lodge!!

We had a great time, our "Cabin" had 2 bedrooms, small kitchenette fireplace, we took our Grandson on vacation, we were less then 150 yards from Big Bear Lake, there is BBQ for each unit and play area for kids.. The swimming pool was great..We are already planning our 2012 Family Vacation and we will be staying here...

Room Tip: Bathroom was very small, bring, if you have kids bring movies each cabin has a Video Recorder

A warm welcome was supplied by Fendi, our genuinely friendly host. Accommodation consisted of a living room, kitchen, bedroom & bathroom - all spotlessly clean. Every effort has been made to ensure your visit is completely catered for. I felt someone had really thought about it, eg: paper for lighting the fire, towels & flotation aids at the swimming pool, free use of a video library, local information - received the 'normal' ski resort free samples, vitamins etc. Kids play area provided an area for our 3 year old to burn off some energy. Although resort slightly dated, this added to the quaintness, amazing value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Stayed 3 nights late in June. Went there with my husband and 14 year old son. Had a great time. Since the moment you pull up in the driveway you see that it has that woodsy cozy cabin feeling to it. It's a good place for families. They have a pool, a picnic area and picnic tables by the cabins, a playground area, a horseshoe ring area, and a fish cleaning area. There's also numerous pines surrounding the area and a good view of the lake. The place was also clean and had a friendlly staff. Fendi, who was the owner or manager, was very helpful and friendly, and also gave us lots of info on places to go.

Our trip was mainly to get away from the busy city. We went up to Big Bear for three days last year and ended up loving the place. We returned this year again and enjoyed the lake. The cabin is beautiful and has all the perfect accommodations. Its kitchen is perfect and the bedrooms are quite large. We loved it. It's a beautiful place with a great and friendly man in charge! We will come back again next year!
