“Fun day in the snow”

Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain

Attraction details
Owner description: Year round family recreation area. The Alpine Slide attraction is California's only authentic bobsled ride. Take a scenic chairlift ride to the top, then hop on a specially designed sled and control your own speed down a 1/4 mile long track. In the summer enjoy our refreshing double Water Slide and in the winter tube on our Snow Play hill with Magic Carpet uphill lift. We also offer Go-Karts and an 18 hole miniature golf course. Our newly renovated building has plenty of indoor seating and an expanded snack bar. An outdoor patio, Water Slide deck and many grass areas allow for plenty of relaxing. Parents pay only if you play!

The attractions at Alpine Slide were fun. Our only complaint is that you had to buy different passes for the two different slides (Inner tube vs. cart slide). Make sure to be adventurous on the tube slide.

We go here every year on Thanksgiving. It's a little pricey, but worth it if there happens to be no natural snow around.

I was a little stunned at the price, $25 for an all day pass seems pricey, but my 2yr old & 4 yr old were free with our admission. For that price I thought it included the sleds & was disappointed when we found out it was an additional amount.

I'm giving this place a positive review with a few words of caution; the tubing area was understaffed to handle the people breaking the rules. We had a couple of close calls with idiots going down right after us not waiting for the bottom to be clear & nearly crashing into our kids. Staff was standing right at the bottom of the hill & it would have been nice to see any sort of effort being made to ensure guests kept safe. I've worked as a lifeguard & can empathize trying to handle large crowds, but it felt like no one was in charge & they seemed more concerned with people running up the hill to try & ride free on the sleds rather than focus on guest safety.

When the high school & college kids arrived it felt like all hell broke loose; the staff tried to keep them under control but it seemed like too many people &.zero crowd control. There were people in underwear sliding down the hill, a little too wild for my toddlers to watch. I think it was fun but if we went back I'd probably go right when they open to avoid the rowdy afternoon crowd & hopefully it is a little safer.

Easter Sunday - Not too crowded and a lot of fun for our three year old who had never experienced anything like it - from going up the "ski" lift to actually going down the slide - a quick easy to do diversion for kids and fun enough for adults too.
