My wife and I make it up to Big Bear usually once a year. Last year we came to eat here because of the rave reviews but they were closed ( apparently the owner had gone fishing...no really.....) So this year they were finally open. It definitely is a "hole in the wall" building but as one other reviewer put it, "tough in cheek" attitude that the wait staff like to enhance.....our wait was over 30 minutes which isn't bad for a Sunday and once we were seated another 30 minutes for or food. We both ordered the Rudy Omellete and again found the food to be bland and just ok.....I mean probably could have gone to Denny's down the street for what I think a better breakfast. It's just average diner food. We also ordered a blueberry pancake.....again ok, their huge so be prepared. I guess people like the ambience in the place but the food is just ok. We probably wouldn't return. We've found other places in the Village with better breakfast.
