Everything is Fresh....
Located at the Best Western Big Bear Chateau, this Le Bistro boasts a large roomy dining area with high ceilings and Murano glass chandeliers. I sat at a table for two in front of the fireplace.
Some of the food is perfect and some of the food is average to above average. The chicken marsala falls in the range of average to above average. It was decent but it was missing that last bit of "over the top" flavor. The green apple desert on special for St. Patricks Day was very nice. Perfection was the Onion soup and shrimp scampi. The Onion soup was full of flavor and was not salty, it tasted fresh. The vegetables, a combo of broccoli, carrots, zuccini, and squash, served with the dinner were also fresh. The presentation of the dinner on a scale of 1-5 scores a 4. I ordered an extra lobster tail ( St. Patricks Day special) to compliment my dinner and they served the whole dinner on a vary large version of a white square plate and accented with a sprig of rosemary and other greens along with an edible flower. After a day of skiing or snowboarding, if you don't feel like driving anywhere, just head downstairs to the restaurant in this hotel.
