“Awesome time for family”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

We've spent the second time in cienaga creek ranch and absolutely loved the experience.
It's a great place for going for walks, sledding, and relaxing in the cozy and clean cottage.
This place seems to have more snow and for longer than by the lake. We also enjoy the privacy very much.

Aside from the copious raves I'd like to bestow on Cienega Creek Ranch for their cozy cabins, remote location that makes you truly feel like you are alone in the woods (even though you aren't), what I applaud Cienega Creek Ranch on is the service. My new car broke down--something having to do with needing a diesel additive for the cold, who knew!--and not only did they volunteer to drive me 15 miles each way to the store in Big Bear so I could feed my small children, they did it with a smile. I couldn't believe how willing they were to help out the customer, and the person that worked there, Ben, was actually an auto mechanic and helped me diagnose the problem with my car. Then, when the tow truck came and I had already left, the tow truck driver was totally unprepared. They actually helped HIM get my car to the highway since he couldn't get his tow truck on the snowy road. unbelievable. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic or family getaway, and I can't wait to go back when I'm not in "business mode" trying to get my family home safe, to explore the trails and do some more sledding. Not to mention enjoy the cinnamon rolls that were waiting for us upon arrival.

I loved our stay at Cienaga Creek Ranch. We had privacy, yet felt very cared for by owners. When we arrived in our cabin, there were cinammon rolls, soft music playing, and a clean, cozy, nicely decorated cabin. We had beautiful hikes and only a fifteen minute drive to downtown Big Bear. The owners were even kind enough to return our DVD which we accidentally left in the DVD player.

And people too; Cienaga Creek Ranch provides the perfect backdrop for families that want to include their four legged children in a mountain adventure. Hiking, relaxing, and hiking some more was exactly what we were looking for and exactly what we got. Our cabin was just as advertised; clean, cozy, and secluded. We loved the crisp fall weather and look forward to coming back in the winter to experience some mountain snow. Who knows, if our two legged adult children treat us nice we may even pack them up and try out the Juniper Ridge!

Room Tip: We picked a mid-week stay right before Thanksgiving and had the entire ranch to ourselves.

Two people, two dogs, three nights in the "Ironwood" cabin here at Cienaga Creek Ranch. Add in a blazing fire, a stack of new books and DVD's, and take-out from Jasper's BBQ in the village.. what an idyllic T-giving weekend!
Did I mention homemade baked goods fresh and still warm from the over delivered to your cabin every afternoon? And one of the most comfortable beds I have enjoyed anywhere -- better than most 5 star luxury hotels!

But the best thing -- the VERY BEST THING -- is sitting out on the deck in the morning and evening listening to the lions roar. I wish you could see the looks on my dogs' faces when they figured out that rumbling noise echoing through the trees was ANIMAL! Yes, wild animal movie-stars live at an adjoining property and the lion roars at night and at dawn. Our experience here kept us singing: "In the village, the peaceful village, the lion roars tonight..."

Room Tip: This is a rustic cabin. DVD's but no cable. Cell service but no Wi-Fi. A good 25 minutes from to...

The only gift our grandson wanted for his 8th birthday was to go to the mountains and stay in a cabin, a wish we thought would be a challenging request with bringing our two dogs. Fortunately we found Cienaga Ranch and booked the Hunters Lodge over the Thanksgiving holiday. The charming pictures, the dog friendly atmosphere and the true sense of private mountain serenity more than met our expectations for the trip. However when we arrived, this wonderful cottage was inviting us into a magical home away from home completely surrounded by peace and tranquility. Beautiful, well appointed cottages with welcoming front porches, each sitting on their own personal forrest with every detail thought about individualized to make us feel special. Scott and Vicki's pride in their lovely homes and the surroundings, their concern and hospitality, and Vicki's unbelievable baking talents personally delivered each day went way beyond any place we had stayed in the past. Before we had to leave we were already planning at least 2 more return visits this year. We will be back again with the family and come by ourselves for a romantic getaway. Whether you are coming solo, looking for a great family vacation, or wanting a couple's getaway you will be very happy you came and it will also become your favorite place to relax and regroup like the rest of us who have visited the first time and can't wait to come back again soon.

Room Tip: We loved Hunter's Lodge but honestly you will not be disappointed in any one of these special ac...

What a fantastic place to come and get away from it all! Our two labs Hunter and Hudson were in heaven with all the hiking and leash free surroundings. We loved all the little extras that were delivered each day. Yum! My favorite part was waking up to the sound of the lions roaring next door that echoed through the forest. My 11 year old son loved it too. We can't wait to go back in the snow! This was such a pleasant surprise to find Cienaga Creek Ranch. Thank you Vickie and Scott! You run a top notch place! We give it 10 out of 10 paws!!
