“Wonderful dog friendly place”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

My wife and I celebrated our 11th anniversary at this beautiful & tranquil Cienaga ranch. Our cabin (Mountain Sunset) has been equipped with all the luxuries from coffee beans/coffee grinder to Jacuzzi and over sized shower stall. This place has far exceeded our expectations. Vickie & Scott are wonderful people and made our trip even more special. Hiking on the trails, watching the dog playing out side in the woods and listening to the amazing roar of predators (Don't worry....they are from the near by ranch). It was truly amazing experience and can not wait to go back with our dog Sunny.

Stayed at Cienaga Creek Ranch for a few days. Thought it was closer to Big Bear (actually about 20 minutes away) but beautiful, quiet and dog-friendly. Karen and John were wonderful caretakers and we really loved the little cabin. Very comfortable with 3 people and a dog. Great place to escape for a little rest, relaxation and hiking! Will go back!

Room Tip: Bring food, it's about a 20 minute trip into town and the nearest grocery store/restaurant.

My husband & I just spent 3 days of peace & relaxation at Cienenga Creek. We stayed in the Wild Rose cabin, and highly recommend it. Our dogs loved the freedom to chase critters and dig to their hearts content. The roar of the nearby lion & tiger was amazing- it's truly amazing to hear it so close! Karen & John are new, but were very gracious hosts-treats for both us and the pups were waiting for us when we arrived& delivered each afternoon-the banana toffee muffins are to die for!
The cabin had everything we needed. It's close to Big Bear, but we found our front porch to be more inviting, my husband loved the porch swing. We can't wait to go back!

We have been to the ranch once before, a couple of years ago. It was really nice then, but now it's even better! Cabin we were in was better equipped than we remember them being the first time. Even had coffee beans and a grinder! Karen & John, the caretakers are wonderful, and made our trip even more special with their TLC. The corral for the horses was in great shape, and the water tank was sparkling clean and full for them upon our arrival. Great trails lead right out of the property - we could ride for days up there! Oh, and the home baked goods (sometimes w/ fresh made preserves!) are AMAZING treats. We'll be back!

My husband, dog Toby, and I just stayed in the Mountain Sunset Cabin. We had a fabulous time! We are looking to buy a cabin in the Big Bear area and I would buy this one if I could. Rustic and luxury aren't two words that normally go together but it is the perfect description for this place. It has a great location. Close enough to town if you want to go and far enough away to enjoy the solitude. We enjoyed taking hikes, looking at the huge amount of stars at night and just relaxing on the porch swing. The owners add a lot of small touches that really put this place over the top. I highly recomend this place!

My husband, two Golden Retrievers, and I recently visited Cienaga Creek Ranch for the first time. We stayed in Mountain Sunset cottage (very cozy with rustic charm) and had the most wonderful time! Cienaga Creek Ranch, which was blanketed in snow during our visit, is a quiet, pristine, beautiful, and invigorating place. The whole experience greatly exceeded our expectations. We are planning our next trip and cannot wait to go back!

My husband and I and our 4 legged baby spent 2 beautiful nights at Cienaga Creek Ranch in the Wild Rose. It was our 2 years anniversary. Our cabin was in a beautiful secluded area. It was very peaceful and relaxing. When we arrived, we got a surprised of 8-10 inches of snows. It was AMAZING! Our dog loves it. We will be back again during the summer time. Thanks Vicki for making this a pleasant get away!
